This is geared to more of the volt family. I've never played this game before, but been playing street fighter since part two in the arcades. Is this a game that is comparable? How are the mechanics compared to volt? Also can I play over my 3g on my iPhone 4s?
Yea, it's easy to keep trying combos against stationary computer opponents, but dang if it's hard to catch ppl moving and countering .. everything moves so quick aaaaaa
Anyone else notice its more difficult to execute the uppercut motion (f, d, df+attack) than in SF4:Volt? KOF is more picky.
I realized why I'm having lag issues. People with 2 bars and under keep challenging me! Arggh. Why? I don't want to turn it off since I rather practice while waiting to match up. Not to mention 3 bars+ players are legendary rare.
This game's a bit more advanced than Volt. Volt is verrrry basic. And I played TenOnez over 3G a couple nights ago and it worked. But I think if both players were on 3G or if you're playing people pretty far away (I played who I assumed were some Asians last night and the connection was decent but still more laggy than it had been) then it's going to lag quite a big. Haha! Yeah it's all about positioning yourself with the Evade button. But I don't have enough command over the good combos yet. Once I get that, I'll be more solid. Yeah the controls are tighter in this game which i like. But I'm still using SP Assist for the DP motions because while I've sat and practiced them here, they stil don't always come out. Hahahaha yeah I was thinking that while doing some of the combos in training mode! xD
This game is 10 times better than street fighter if they make the Internet connection better, well it just in my opinion thou.
It's gets easier once you get used to it, upper cut in KOF seems to be a little bit safer than street fighter, only reason is cause in street fighter upper cut fail you easily eating ultra, where as KOF you usually don't eat a huge damage, which seems to be a lot balance. I really don't like RNG, it just stupid.
SNK have been a tiny bit sneaky here. In the intro movie, the game running in the background looks so smooth and crisp and the backgrounds are animated. When you see the game running though, the edges are a little rough on the fighters (same as 2011 version) and the backgrounds are static. It appears SNK used footage from console/arcade versions in their intro.
I'm yet to have a laggy game... As for the transition from Volt to King Of Fighters, oh man what an uphill climb. This game is very very verrrrry fast paced! I'm having a very hard time keeping up with those that are already familiar with the movement and pace of the game. It's almost like a single player Marvel game. Practicing those training mode combos are helpful yeah but in a game this fast paced you can hardly find the opportunity to execute them. You don't have all day to hitconfirm your blockstrings like in Volt. This is definitely a more advanced game.
Finally had time to properly play the game for a few straight hours last night. The game is nowhere as smooth as hyped. It tricks many people because the source style is 2D, which lends itself to the sprite-based animation better than the 3D Volt. Smaller character sprite size (due to wider screen aspect ratio and border on top and bottom of the screen) plus faster gameplay might also give the illusion of smoother framerate. The controls are ok, but nothing revolutionary like when SF4 first came out (No one had any idea how Capcom's gonna make virtual buttons work). I feel SNK could've crafted the controls more so they're simpler to play, but purposely didn't to create a more complex game and cater to different market niche. The content is where this game really shines, with stuffs to unlock, different game modes for single player, endings, etc. Too bad 2 characters require DLC and can't be purchased with points.
Yup, it sure is hard to pin a non turtle down. Ive been getting some good online fights this afternoon but rarely am i able to set up for the few combos i have prepared...I need to get back in the training room too cause i noticed most of them only work in the corner Also, i recommend spending coins on message packs first thing, Its a fun intermission between fights to have a little chat with your opponent! I hope they bring more packs of things to the Rose Shop in future updates!
It depends on your opponent. Miss an uppercut against the wrong opponent and you could eat a 50-90% combo. X_X
