This was a bit different, with the reason for F3 being extremely important.

The real danger Red is facing is the jammer at D4. Here's the full take:

    Best Move: F3

    - A critical defensive move by Red! This prevents D4-G3, D4-H4, D4-I5 or D4-J6 by Blue. Any of these moves would be a total block switch by Blue, hurting Red in blocks where he is already behind.
    - Allows the G4 jammer to potentially be moved by Red later to both open lane 4 and possibly attack Blue with G4-A4 (if B3 is out of the way)
    - Really the only move the helps Red at all, but it helps tremendously by blocking a potentially killer move by Blue.

Hi all, here is Khamous reasoning:

I was technically 1st but ok lol.
F3 is a good move because:
Mainly, blocks the counterattacks from blue at lane 4, specially that d4 Jammer, totally blocks any of those jammers from down there to move up there, pressuring blue a LOT (specially since the other reds arent in the lower part of the screen so he can't turn them around there) H8 is also prevented from double blocking f3 there and, it is important to note that that lane's read is the weakest piece as the j3 Jammer is "stuck" up there because he cant rebound.

No other red is in special danger as the ones that can potentially block red, can't really help blue in a tit for tat game, and can be reversed too, if needed be.

    --------

I know the idea of a tie breaker is new, but in this case, it was warrented both because Khamous and Spork came both came in at almost exactly the same time, and the reason for F3 was extremely important.

If Khamous had both the first answer in round 2, and the right idea, I felt that was a fair way to decide this *extremely* close contest.

    Hi JDD players!

Thanks for taking on this wild ride today! Congrats to Khamous for the win, and to Spork for being the first with right move in the really tricky position one!

    Here is the full analysis:

    Position One

    Best Move: G6-I4

    - Unblocks Red and blocks Blue and Red. (partial block switch)
    - Blocks Blue where he currently has a wide open lane, preventing a potentially long run by Blue.
    - Takes control of lane 6. Red could then continue to free his lane 6 runner with a move like B6-C5. Or he could keep attacking Blue in lane 4, with something like I7-H4.

    Other Moves:

    G6-G4, D2-H4, G2-G4

    - These are all good moves in different ways that are very similar to the best move, but missing the best possible way to block Blue at I4, and the total block switch that G6-I4 provides.

    Position Two

    Best Move: F3

    - A critical defensive move by Red! This prevents D4-G3, D4-H4, D4-I5 or D4-J6 by Blue. Any of these moves would be a total block switch by Blue, hurting Red in blocks where he is already behind.
    - Allows the G4 jammer to potentially be moved by Red later to both open lane 4 and possibly attack Blue with G4-A4 (if B3 is out of the way)
    - Really the only move the helps Red at all, but it helps tremendously by blocking a potentially killer move by Blue.

    Other Moves:

    G2, D5 and G6 (all runner moves)
    - G2 is actually dangerous for Red, allowing the moves C4-H3 or C4-I4 by Blue, both total block switches.
    - D5 and G6 don't have any advantages like F3.

    Cheers,
    ~Doug

Status Update on Thursday Triple Twist

    Hi all,

As of now, there is no outright winner of the Triple Twist. If there is still none by 3pm EDT Sunday, then I will PM all players with their correct moves, and start the open round where everyone can PM me as many guesses as they want, until one person gets them all correct.

For the Second Place prize ($15 iTunes GC), only the players who have submitted at least 2 out of 3 correct by 3pm Sunday (the current round of guesses) will be entered into the drawing for 2nd place. Most entries have gotten at least 2 out of 3 correct!

Any questions, just PM or ask in the thread.

    Cheers,
    ~Doug

Starting Day 4 in five minutes! :)
