I understand. 24 lives on the line, vs a $15 iTunes card. Still, just amazing.

I remember when I used to play MMORPGs (never WoW), when we were at something really concentration demanding I wouldnt even talk or want anyone in my room (pretty much like with these contests).

Why always at the same time tho? Is it a fixed thing? Can't you change it so you can participate one day like, from the time it starts?

    The Thursday Triple Twist

On this day of the contest, three positions will be posted early in the day. All wicked jammer moves.

The best move guesses this day will be PM'd. The first to get all three wins! No time limits, but only one guess for all three. Better make it a good one! :)

Relating to Khamous question about the timing of the contests, I'm thinking of running a couple days next contest at different times, if this could accomodate more people. Spork or anyone else, please let me know here or PM if you have any ideas about that.

The next contest will also run in this thread.

Actually that question was redirected to Spork's raids @ WoW, but if changing time gets more people in the contest, better :p

If no one has gotten by the end of the contest Sunday, I'll PM with correct guesses and start an open round. As many guesses as you want until it is won.

Yep, I understood that. My point was about time conflicts. If Spork or someone has a previous commitment, I am thinking of other possible contest times, at least for a couple of days.

Also, I'd like to accomodate some players in European time zones who have expressed interest.

I also managed to snag 3rd price @ Project 72's contest, today is a good day for me.

As for the schedule, as long as you tell me the time beforehand, I'll do w/e possible to be here. Priority must be on reaching more people, if the ones that always win aren't around I think some people will be even happier :p

I'm in a relatively hardcore raiding guild. 7:30-11:30 Monday - Thursday, with 10 man raids on Fridays. We're ranked in the top 250 guilds in the US and people take things pretty seriously, so it's not something I can just reschedule. :p

I see I see, so yeah Doug changing the times would be the better option from you. And grats on being ranked :D

Congrats again, Khamous! I like the 9pm time for most days, but will probably go for something around 12pm-2pm for at least one or two days (unless I get other suggestions!). And of course on Thursday, players can get involved at any time.

    Today's Move Analysis:

    Posistion One

    Best Move: I4-E6

    - Unblocks Red and blocks Blue.
    - Opens lane 4 for a potential good run or move off.
    - Blocks Blue, in the most effective way possible, in lane 6, where he is threatening to make a long run.
    - The E6 block will be very hard for Blue to flip back against Red.

    Other Moves:

    H3-B5
    - Does unblock Red and blocks Blue.
    - But does not open any lanes for Red.
    - Easy for Blue to flip this block back to Red with B5-D3. Blue couldn't do this as long as you controlled lane 3, but there is no need to force yourself to do that right now.
    - Better to pass on H3-B5 right now. Instead, do I4-E6 first to stop Blue in lane 6 as much as possible, and if you get the chance later, then do H3-B5.

    E3-C5

    - This opens Blue in lane 3 too much and too early.
    - Blue's lane 5 runner is already blocked, not much gained with this.
    - No open lane for Red.
    - Leaves lane 6 wide open for Blue.
    - Blue can move ahead in lane 3, and even block behind his lane 3 runner with the D5 and C7 jammers if he has the chance.

    Position Two

    Best Move: G1-H2 or G1-F2

    - Blocks Blue from making a run for it in lane 2.
    - G1-H2 blocks Blue the tightest, but also bottles up the I3 jammer a bit for Red.
    - G1-F2 blocks Blue partially, but does allow the possible follow-up of I3-H2 if Blue doesn't get past I2 in lane 2.
    - Overall, these two moves are equally good.

    Other Moves:

    B7-A6
    - This does open lane 7 for Red.
    - Better to wait for something that would allow you to block Blue in lanes 2, 3 or 5 with this jammer.

Really, only G1-H2 or G1-F2 is a good move for Red in this position.

    March 22-26 Contest Info

    Hi all,

Just wanted to say, again, how much fun we had running the first series of The Jamzu Daily Double. I want to send a huge "thank you!" to everyone who participated. I really hope you all had a blast! :)

    EDITED for final schedule:
This is the final schedule for the second series.

Contest times for the March 24-28 series, all Eastern Daylight Time:

    Wednesday: 8:30pm
Thursday: 10am - The Thursday Triple Twist! A $25 iTunes Gift Card for the winner!
    Friday: 8:30pm
    Saturday: 2pm
    Sunday: 2pm

Note: The Thursday Triple Twist is not really a timed contest. 10am is when the positions will be posted, but you can enter any time until there is a winner.

I missed the first series as soon as it was over, and was having withdrawal symptoms on Saturday evening. I absolutely can't wait for the second series, and hope you all are looking forward to some more wild and crazy Jamzu fun! :D

Full first series highlights: Real Fun Art

    Cheers,
    ~Doug

hm.. 2pm schedules are hard for me, since at that time I am at class and even if I managed to play in the itouch I'd be way slower.

Can't you do something earlier for those 2? perhaps 12 or even 11am?

    Thanks :D

Another possibility would be to move the days forward or backwards a couple of days, to have the afternoon times run on a weekend. If anyone has thoughts about that option, please let me know.

yeah, those aren't good times for me either. Could you push Monday and Wednesday back an hour or two? Definitely not earlier though. If not, I'd be ok with the afternoon comps during the weekend. Also I gotta say, the last contest was held a little late for me (yeah I know, I go to bed way early) maybe hold Thursday and Friday at 8?
