Well midianGTX and I talked about this very slimly...but... The iSlate, we all really hope its not another ipod touch camera annoucnement, (how it lacked therof), but if it does come out... Would any devs try to develope on it? If its anything like the iphone/mac hybrid we would like, then I can imagine it could be a possibility, but would it? Post some comments! and if it could happen, would u make some apps actually ON your iSlate. for people like me that would be GREAT! i want a mac, but simply cant buy one seeing as im 13! but an iSlate for me is a possiblilty and it would be aweseome if we could make games on it!1!! BY THIS I MEAN ACTUALLY USING IT TO DEVELOP APPS ON!!! LIKE A PORTABLE MAC WITH A TOUCHSCREEN!
If it's a Mac/iPod Touch hybrid, then less intensive mac games and all iPod touch games should work fine on it. Devs might need to make sure that the resolution is supported on the iSlate. Games'll be made the same. There'll just be more room to use. Touchgrind will actually be usable. RTS and board games will be fantastic.
Oh crap I hope not... I really don't want to have to buy a whole 'nother device, especially right after upgrading to an iTouch 3g. Plus, it's much more convenient and easier for people to go for an iPod/iPhone. Try carrying an iSlate in your pocket... unless you have huge pockets, that ain't happeneing. I think devs are still going to go for the iTouch/iPhone. I'd like to see some games for the slate, but not have it dominate the iDevice. Maybe releasing games for iPod Touch, iPhone, and iSlate, just optimizing the screen size a bit. It could work, you never know.
and iphone. making an iphone and itouch/iSlate app on the slate, could it be accomplished? EDIT!!! the question isnt making apps for the islate, its making games ON it, using it, then making iphone/islate/itouch apps ON IT
Regardless of what the OS is going to look like it's still OS X under the hood. I'm convinced Apple has an easy way for developers to port existing iPhone games to this thing and they'll have it available before the end of the month with thousands of compatible apps by launch. If it's running a full version of OS X I don't see why developing for ether the iPhone or itself would be a problem.
I wanna see Defender Chronicles on a bigger screen with better resolution. Imagine how much chaos they could fit in to that.
Doom 3 on an iSlate? Fallout 1 and 2? A ton of other classics? Now you're making me want one of these if that's possible.
