A good user experience is reliant on great tech too. Taking great photos is part of having a great user experience. Having a snappy processor and ram is important to having snappy responsive performance. Apple is taking a beating from all sides on not being able to do multitasking. It's not that The iPhone can't multitasking. It's that apple wants to wait until multitasking is snappy and respnsive. There will be significant upgrades in the next iPhone and it will be able to multitask. That's a guarentee. In addition, those of you claiming apple doesn't stay at the cutting edge of tech are dead wrong. They have a long hx of pushing tech.
I'd like to see a front facing camera for video calls. So I can prove I'm not with some other woman when my lady calls. As far as the macbooks, you gotta give them credit for selling even as many as they do with the price set where it's at. My own macbook is like 6-7 years old and runs Leopard pretty well. Not the quickest little machine but it's stable and does what I need a laptop to do.
I think that's actually fairly likely. It would allow for much faster syncing and data transfers, and is already finding it's way into other mobile devices.
Yeah I read that it should be standard before the year is up so I'm hoping Apple grab it as soon as possible, syncing isn't the longest thing in the world but when I wanna play a game it makes me more impatient than usual.
Well the latest round of rumors says that Apple is acquiring large quantities of LED Flash component, 5 MP Cameras with 720p video playback, OLED screens and updating their PowerVR graphics card to almost twice as many pipelines and pairing it with the dual core A9 processor. Considering that the Apple Tablet is debuting at the end of the month, it's a little late to be acquiring parts for that. Sounds like bad news to me frankly. How often do these speculations ever come into fruition? I don't think a 5 MP camera is out of the question, but I really don't see them adding LED Flash... It would change the entire design of the phone, probably make it need to be thicker, change the aesthetic appeal and sleekness of the iphone, plus manufacturers would need to make new cases. I honestly think Apple would prefer to keep the same design and omit a flash. I don't think OLED screen or the processor/graphics cards are necessarily out of the question, but I'm not getting my hopes up personally.
Before the iPod touch 3rd gen came out everyone was convinced it would be getting a camera. There are other examples (which I'm too lazy to track down) in which early rumors come out and Apple decidedly goes against them. It almost seems like when these rumors come out, they curse any chances of becoming reality. But as I said, I don't see an OLED screen, or beefier processor/graphics card out of the question... I'm just not getting my hopes up. I just think a flash is completely out of the question. Besides, the 3Gs came out not too long ago and it was a major performance upgrade from the 3G. But the original iphone to 3g was not as significant an increase. I think they'll wait it out another gen before making any drastic changes, just my opinion.
Actually, it's quite the opposite. This past year, rumors ended up being true far more often than not. Virtually every single rumor about the specs in the iPhone 3GS came true. The rumors of the PS3 Slim came true. The rumors of Wii Motion Plus came true. The rumors predicting Wii Music came true. The rumors that both Sony and MS would announce their own motion controllers last e3 came true. The rumors about the PSP Go came true. The rumors that a new DS would be announced at CES came true. The rumors of the Apple Tablet are about to come true in a few weeks. In fact, the only recent time I can recall a credible rumor didn't come true was about the camera in the iPod Touch. But guess what, people that opened up the new iPhone Touch found many changes made precisely to accomidate a camera, including changes with the wiring and circuitary. Thus it seems that the iPod Touch was about to have a camera but was pulled at the last second due to some unexpected bugs/conflicts. It's also kind of stupid to claim that just because the current iPhones don't have flash, that Apple will never ever ever revise the external design of the iPhone and implement flash out of fear of making current iPhone cases not forwards compatible. It's not as if those cases will cease to work with current iPhone 3Gs and 3GSs. Apple took a lot of heat last July for not making any external changes to how the iPhone looked. I doubt they will repeat that again this year. I forsee a revision to the external design of the iPhone once every two years or so. That seems reasonable.
None of those rumors are Apple. Yes, we'll see a tablet in a few weeks but we don't know the specs on it... everything said to date about the specs have been speculation as well. Those beefier processors and graphics cards could very well be for the tablet, not the iPhone- but again it's all speculation. Just because they will be unveiling the tablet in a few weeks does not mean they have a warehouse full of them right now. There is no proof whatsoever what these components will be used for. I still don't see a flash happening. I'm not saying they can't revamp the design, I just don't see a flash coming this gen. We can spin in circles all we want, you seem to have a very optimistic opinion while I'm more doubtful. The point is it is all speculation right now, and no amount of your own personal convictions, regardless of how strong they are, are going to change that.
Actually, all of the rumors about the 3GS (and the Tablet) were about apple, and everyone of them came true. And of course it's speculation. That's all you can do is speculate. The difference is, I'm basing my speculation off of Apple's previous history, the history of how past rumors about the 3GS, and 3G and even the original iPhone panned out and ended up coming true and on evidence of product orders that Apple themselves have placed. You're not basing your speculation on any of that, and if you are, you should be able to cite some examples or evidence.
I'm just curious, which of you guys are upgrading to the new iPhone in July, how many people are waiting until 2011, and how many of you are switching over to a different carrier or different phone (ie. the nexus one or something).
Nope, those features will be exclusive to the iSlate (no it's not going to be called either the iPad or the iTablet or anything else), the same sources that I'm basing the OP off of confirm that the name of the Tablet, one week from now, will be unveiled/revealed to be the iSlate. Just remember, you heard it here first, a week before anyone else could confirm the name of the device.
I was supposed to get an iphone 3gs during the holidays but I didn't for some damn reason so I was promised a 4g the first day it came out. I can't wait. Right now I have a pre tho so it isn't that bad. Can't wait for the summer. This phone and every other one is nothing compared to an iphone.
