I don't see why you guys think expecting 64 GB in the high end model in unrealistic. Toshiba already developed the flash card, and that's been the natural progression every year now. It went...

    2G - 8 GB Max (2007)
    3G - 16 GB Max (2008)
    3GS - 32 GB Max (2009)
    Prediction: 4G - 64 GB Max (2010)

How is that at all unrealistic when Toshiba already make the drive for it and has started mass producing it?

Yeah in response to an earlier post, I think AT&T gets way too bad off a rap sometimes for problems with the iPhone itself.

The AT&T service in my current area is perfect where as friends with verizon have tons of problems, but back when I lived in Ohio, it was the polar opposite and AT&T's service was horrible with the very same iPhone.

I recall a study they did where they tested the identical phone on both AT&T and Verizon in a dozen different cities, and AT&T came out on top on almost every test. The trick is, they didn't use an iPhone, but when they tried the iPhone in those same areas, the coverage was worse. So some of the poor signal is the iPhone's fault, not AT&Ts.

And lastly, iPhone users use data like crazy. How can you not when you have the awesome Safari browser and App Store on your phone. But because of this, AT&T's networks are constantly overloaded by data intensive iPhone users like me.

In short, I expect in August, when a bunch of iPhoner's switch to Verizon, there's going to be a lot more problems on Verizon's network, and AT&T's service might improve again.

I used to waste time with cases and screen protectors, but eventually came to realize that they are completely unneccesary. The iPhone holds up perfectly fine without them, flying completely naked. I even accidently dropped it a few times and not so much as a scratch on it.

Plus it looks far better, and feels far better in your hand when it's completely naked and unprotected.

iPod touch already has 64GB, so it probably will happen, and I hope so because 32GB is not enough for me.

I find it strange that you give those numbers yet are happy to limit the video recording to 1080p.

When will people get it into their heads that the iPhone is only coming to Verizon when Verizon goes GSM.

Also Wikoogle, the iPod's success is generally credited by two main things: Ease of use/UE and iTunes. Design, of course, played an important role, but mainly those two things. Apple's main focus has always been about been about the user experience. The way the user interacts with a device has, and always will be, far more important than any hardware specs out there. That's why you haven't switched to a Droid or a HTC Hero wikoogle, because you don't want to leave the Apple experience or the appstore.

I hear iPhone users use about 10x as much bandwith as other phone users

64 GB is already out as an iPT, so I would say..... 86 GB, maybe?

I don't know. But it's increased every time, and 64 GB is already out, so, it's going to be above 64.

Actually 64GB is on the iPod Touch 3G. The iPhone is always behind due to everything it has inside it compared to the iPod Touch which doesn't have GPS, camera and cellular to contend with.

    - The Higher End Models -
iPhone 3GS has one 32GB chip (it can only hold one)
iPod Touch 3G has two 32GB chips which equals 64GB for the top end device

The iPhone 4G will have one 64GB chip and the next iPod Touch 4G will contain two 64GB chips. This is how they have done it each year. Toshiba's 64 GB NAND Flash was already announced late last year. You can bet there will be one in the iPhone and two in the iPod Touch this year.

So 64GB in the next iPhone is a given. Probably close to a 1GHz processor would be assumed to (but I wouldn't be surprised to see them keep the same processor as the 3Gs). Outside of that I think they are going to push the UI for OS 4 but won't tinker too much with the hardware. The 3 megapixel camera will probably stay to keep costs down.

Those of you that argue about tech that is already out in some devices don't realize the bottom line. What are these companies margins as far as manufacturing expenses compared to actual revenue? Apple is all about the bottom line. In essence putting out the lowest cost hardware to manufacture and pricing it very high to make lots and lots of money based on their user experience. Other companies are willing to take in far less revenue on their products just to compete with better hardware. The last rumor I saw had the iPhone costing Apple about $187 to manufacture. I would venture a guess it is actually less than that.

I would like to see a bigger screen but I don't see that ever happening.

They will probably develop SOMETHING bigger, by the time it comes out.

You mean Toshiba? They just announced the 64GB late in 2009. Their 32GB has been out for about a year. Also Apple has already been testing the next gen iPhone since November of 2009. I am pretty sure Apple is set on what hardware is going to be included.

Toshiba won't have a 128GB single chip until the end of this year, at the earliest.

I'm pretty sure I have a sense of humor, I even have a social group on how to be funny, one of the most popular groups on TA.
