I'd join, but I think I am one of the few people who aren't bitching and moaning about it.
    I can't wait til it's released! :)

This is false. There was no beta tester. The 3 hour figure was made up.

That really confused me for a moment, not the PC gamer link, the "beta tester" article it links to. First it said the info came from the founder of Joystiq and Engadget, so I assumed it was gonna be valid... then towards the bottom of the article it mentions solar panels and fingerprint readers... what the hell?

I was all set to buy one when they came out till I found out it won't support flash. What good is an Internet tablet that doesn't support the most used media app on the net?

Screw AT&T and their crappy network. Atleast enable flash when on wifi.

As much as I would love my games on an ipad the lack of full web functionality is a deal breaker.

One thing I want to know is if you can put digital copies from movies onto the iPad.

Do you also have to sync the iPad with your pc/mac like the ipod/iphone?

Yes it is just like the iPhone/touch. Everything syncs via iTunes.

As far as gaming goes, nobody is buying an iPad to play Fight Control and other 99 cent apps, and if the successful Appstore can't get people to buy more expensive, full fledged games, how can it for the iPad? I t doesn't even have the hardware to go much furter than the 3GS if it wanted.

Feature-wise, it isn't much better than the iPhone, however, it lơoks so smơoth and stylish! I probably will get it.

Folks, you cannot download from the web or transfer files via USB or disc. The only way to add stuff onto it it to use the sync cable and hook it up to a real computer, like a desktop. Or even a laptop or notebook.

Oh wait, maybe you could just buy a laptop or notebook in the first place!

Yeah to me it looks like a bigger/enhanced version of my 3g ipod touch. Not worth the money IMO when you have an iDevice.

I hate the way touch arcade is devoting so much time and space to this overpriced, overhyped Ipod touch for people with gigantic hands.

I hope it's not a sign of things to come, and this abomination hurries up and dies quickly so we can all get on with our lives.

I'm actually surprised by the amount and level of passionate hatred toward this thing. What's wrong with just not buying it?

I plan on getting one, but mostly for business reasons; the same reason I got an iPhone. I'm not expecting a gaming machine and I'm certainly not raging that it isn't one. I don't get why so many people can't understand that.

its has its place in the world, but theres not many applications that will elevate it beyond the success of iphone/touch (or anywhere near it).

    dont need one here.

To be honest, the games would be my main reason for getting one. But somehow... it just might work. Several people on the forum have noticed I'm not always very optimistic when it comes to 3D games on the iPhone, they're always short and don't often look too amazing... which is why I'm glad the iPad seems better suited to other genres. Much like the front page article mentions, tower defense, RTS, board games, puzzle games and the like are the ones that will really shine on the iPad, and considering those are my favourites on the iPhone anyway... it just might sway me.

If I had a choice between getting 16 gig ipad with or 500 dollars, I'd take the 500 dollars and spend it towards the 4th generation iphone. Right now the thing is just a novelty device for tech nerds who want to cripple their internet addiction even more. This would have been way more impressive if the iphone/touch never existed but since they do I think the one hand browsing (har har har) and the fact that it's pocket-able for on the go use makes it a winner compared to the ipad.

I know they could have made this mor like a netbook but ia am still getting one.

I mean do you guys realize the possibilities with this thing? With th increased speed and screen size almost anything is possible. Not really game wise. But computer Internet wise. I cannot wait to see the applications that come out for this. iWork alone is pretty sweet. Now that the upas has come out this will give some of the big companies a reason to mov to it. Photoshop maybe? It's possible for sure. There will most likely also be a killer folders app? I mean the possibilities are just endless. Plus these are going to be much better apps that will be at a higher quality and thus developers shoul be able to charge more as well. I would be mor than happy to pay 10-20 bucks for some kick ass apps.

Edit: sorry guys I am on the iPhone. I noticed there were some typing errors and letters left out. Ou should get the just of it though!
