Yes you need to be a weight lifter to hold 700 grams in your hand.. lol /s For comparison the air 2 is 440 grams
It's about the same weight as the iPad 1 so if you were okay with that you should be okay with this. That said, I don't want something that big.
I wish they would make the Pencil compatible with the iPad mini 4. My mom wants a stylus of this sort for a new iPad (for painting/drawing), but no way she would want to lug this thing around. She was going to upgrade to a mini, so it's a shame it doesn't work with the iPad mini 4.
I'll admit I would like one but I won't be buying one. The price is too high and I can guarantee the UK price is going to be crazy. I simply don't have that sort of money.
iPad Pro as an iOS alternative to a gaming laptop for a man with less time. It doesn't look like the model most people will favour but I'm tempted and think it can fill a spot for me. I have been downsizing and reducing clutter the last year. Now I've been on the fence about ditching my PC Gaming rig. I hardly used my XBox 360 since Skyrim but I did have a short resurgence in PC Gaming when I built my rig last year (GTX 970, 32gb ram so reasonably capable) but between having a busy work life, 4 hours of commuting home on the weekends and dealing with issues with my rig every week or so I've been tempted to ditch it. Turning it on to update daily, the restart cycles to get a bit of gaming doesn't seem worth my limited time. I've had an iPad before and miss iPad only iOS strategy games like Battle Academy 1 & 2, actually most of Slitherines lineup (Legion is still great) and don't enjoy playing strategy games on the mid size screen of my 6 Plus like X Com, Civ Rev 2, Starbase Orion and Battle for Wesnoth. So I mean to make an iPad Pro my iOS gaming rig. Kinda like a Republic of Gamers laptop, it can be moved easy enough to another location but you'll want to sit in down on a desk or table and plug in for some good gaming. iOS has added plenty of streamlining, time saving features to make it my preferred platform. I'm likely retiring my 2009 Mac Mini soon enough, this could do much of the simple video editing, graphics work and cartoon drawing I still use the Mac for.
I think it's a smart move by Apple my Note Pro 12.2 has changed the way I think about tablets the combination of a stylus, multiwindow (not sure if iPad Pro does this), good battery and the big screen works really well. My one reservation would be why didn't Apple add a button to the Pencil, I've been trying to work out how you could select text or copy and paste without one, seems pretty shortsighted but I would imagine they could bring out a Pencil 2 and rescue it.
There's some media coverage about info leaked by Adobe, and since retracted, the Pro may have 4GB of RAM. I wasn't sure how much better than the Air 2 this would be, but it's looking really impressive.
I've been using my iPad as my primary computer for the past 6 months or so. The iPad Pro will be a day-1 buy for me, along with all accessories.
I'd much rather have a MacBook Air. My wife has one (11") and I love it, but she's always using it. So when we have the funds I'll get one for myself. Which is definitely not now. LOL.
Not for this thread, but avoid 16GB at all costs. For any device. iOS 9 does not give you anymore free space than iOS 8.
It's about the same price as buying a Mac Book. However, IPad Pro is pretty convenient. If you buy the keyboard and the pencil then the iPad is a lot more convenient to carry around than the MacBook. However, given the price is the same as a MacBook I don't know. I'll consider the iPad Pro but right now i'm fine with my MacBook Pro.
