What games have had the most hype and the biggest let down?
I'm going to laugh my @$$ off if this thread is full of Rolando posts when it comes out.
This thread was actually inspired by that game. ha ha
super monkey ball, spore, star wars, kroll...
Need for Speed I reckon
Dr awesome, topple, dropship, and maze finger were great. I doubt ngmoco will let us down.
Kroll is the biggest one for me. I paid $8 for it. It's not bad, but not worth what I paid for it.
Spore, StarSmasher, LineRider, hmmm I'd say i'm still pretty disappointed in Cro-Mag racer
but oh well...
1. Enigmo (far and AWAY - what a dreadfully boring game)
3. Star Wars
All the big 3d games
Hero of Sparta
Super Monkey Ball
They are all flash and no substance. It's even pretty hard to find honest reviews until after I buy it and I know the specific issues to search for
3. Enigmo (because it was the first game I bought and was $10.00 at the time...
4. Strategic Assault... so repetitive...
5. Bugdom controls are awful...
Basically... I'm never going to buy a Pangea game again unless It's really good...
When was there ever a hype around Strategic Assault?
I want to know the same thing. It came out almost unannounced
Um, I think Super Monkey Ball, Kroll and Zombie Mansion are the top ones. I thought Zombie Mansion was going to turn out great but after it came out... I don't know - it just looks crappy
I'm really hoping NFS doesn't turn out that way. If it does... screw it, I'm buying Ferrari GTS or whatever it's called
Kinda Zombie Mansion. I still like it but I think it could have been better.
Maybe asphalt 4. I saw such great reviews for it and bought it for $10, but I never play it anymore and the noise the car makes while drifting is absolutely horrendous.
Every single game by ngmoco. Mazefinger?!? Ridiculous. Topple - not very good or interesting. Dr. Awesome - Not! And now dropship - more like dropsh*t. And yet I bought each and everyone of them and will buy Rolondo too. I guess hope springs eternal.
I couldn't disagree more, especially about Dropship.
I'd say Need for Speed.
But games are never over-hyped for me. I always play on the bad points of an app so that I'm never disappointed.
It also helps from wasting money. :]
Fastlane (I thought asphalt was better until I tried it)
Fieldrunners (Still one of my favorites)
Everything else was where I expected it to be. Here are the ones I'm planning on getting but not sure which ones yet (only got $15 left and I don't feel like spending too much on itunes, got a ps3 after all )
