I agree. Dam that stupid story and character development. It should just be all action. They should just use guns instead because there's more noise and action. (sarcasm in case you didn't figure)

Some movies are great with character development, but we've already seen 6 prior movies with development, it wasn't necessary to add so much with the inal film.

ok firstly its the second last film and we already know what happens anyway. They cant change the story. That was written about 6 years ago. So if you want more action then dont watch a movie based on a book in which the story is slow rather than action packed.

All the HP movies have ranged from at least "pretty good" to excellent (Chamber of Secrets, Goblet of Fire). A book is always going to feel more "complete" than a movie, so it's pointless comparing the two.

My favorite film has to be Chamber of Secrets. F'cking great.

Oh, don't even try to play that card with me. I'm the biggest advocate around for a good story over giant explosions and big guns.

I loved the movie, I really did. But I'm holding to the fact that they could have cut about thirty minutes from the film and still maintained the same level of character development and all the major points of the book. It's already obvious that they're going to desperate measures from the first scenes; we don't need to keep expressing the fact by having the three just travelling about in nature shots for an hour.

This argument doesn't work either, because they did change the story. For example, suddenly Harry has this mirror shard and you wouldn't know where it came from unless you read the sixth novel, because they cut it from the film.

The writers have taken some liberties, some for the better and some for worse. But they have changed the story somewhat.

Yeah, the film is boring, there's no excusing it. Character development should be done earlier, we're approaching the final stretch now and everything is supposed to be building up to a climax, the pace picking up, not slowing down for this Twilight crap.

I watched the first movie and it did nothing for me. Haven't watched any of the others. And I was never even remotely tempted to read any of the books. Harry Potter and Twilight both interest me none.

What is underrated though is Dragonlance. I cannot believe with the success of Lord of the Rings, that they have not converted the Dragonlance Chronicles to film. Off topic, I know.

Isn't the total number of Potter movies going to be 8? Okay, that's just overkill. People mock Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th for making that many movies. I don't care if they are based upon books, nobody needs to see that many sequels.

I've read the first three books. Didn't like the movies until it got to The fifth movie that got me really interested.. All in all, my favorite Harry Potter movies are movie 3, 5, and 6. Deathly Hallows (Part One) was kind of boring, but I am also curious on how it ends. Might have to read the last book, even though I have only read the first three :/

And the Twilight series are awesome (except Breaking Dawn).

So your argument to prove that they do in fact change the story is to tell me that they are actually sticking to the story. What...............

So, they should have have stopped at Fellowship of the Ring then? I mean the other two were just sequels. :p

liked all the books and all the movies :p

favorite is probably harry potter 3
least favorite is harry potter 5 because they had to cut so much stuff.

if i hadn't read the books then i probably wouldn't like the movies but since i read them all multiple times, i would understand all the little references here and there.

Enjoyed Deathly Hallows though i will admit it felt somewhat choppy. can't wait until part 2!!

Excuse me for assuming that you would glean from that what I actually meant.

It's been too long since I read the books, but somewhere in the sixth novel Harry gets that mirror shard that we see in the seventh film. They did not include Harry finding the mirror shard in the sixth film. They felt that it was not important enough to include; therefore, they changed the story. But now they're forced to come back to that development because it's vital to the story later, and people who aren't familiar to the books are completely lost as the writers of the films did not explain where he got this shard.

Thus, they have changed the story. Please notify me if you would appreciate another example.

I read the first four books years ago - got bored with the series when I started reading The Gunslinger.

As for the movies - I stood in line for 2 hours when the first one came out. Needless to say I was disappointed and looking back it probably had an effect on why I stopped reading the series.

Personally I think it would have been better as just a one up. As I did enjoy the first book when I was young.

I feel your sarcasm. Your intelligence are somewhat obscured here. Your comments are less intelligent every time I read them ;)

And I can always assume you are gay, right?

I think it's far more likely that Twilight's effect on your brain cells is impairing your ability to comprehend what I'm typing.

Good point though, you could be a gay male and still read Twilight. I should have caught that one.

I don't know. An effect on the brain is usually by chemicals made in the nervous system through different points within the body so I cannot assume that reading a book would make a person dumb or indifferent, but maybe chemically. And what you may have seemed to have developed, it seems like the stereotypes can hinder your abilities to make your own opinions, often leading to irrationally prejudiced feelings towards others. Am I correct?

I could be gay? But I am not.. But I can assume you are gay if I want to ;)
