Boardumb Administrator Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Apr 14, 2009 8,964 880 113 THE BOSS Sacramento, CA #3 Boardumb, Sep 7, 2017 The first game was updated a couple of times with new levels, I imagine this one will too but not sure if free or paid. The IAP is two pay what you want options, $2.99 or $4.99, and hint packs for 99¢, $1.99, $2.99, or unlimited hints for $14.99. There is also a special IAP for $29.99 that gives you unlimited hints and says all future expansions will be unlocked, so maybe they do plan to release new content as paid. gamingaficionado Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2017 69 1 8 #4 gamingaficionado, Sep 7, 2017 thank you. kbradford Active Member Sep 6, 2012 25 0 0 #5 kbradford, Sep 7, 2017 Hey all, I'm Kevin, one of the creators of The Guides and The Guides Axiom. Happy to answer any questions about the app and the release, we really hope you all are enjoying it. To answer the question above I wouldn't even call this freemium, this is a full game using a pay-what-you-want model with a few optional purchases if you get stuck. The original did well but never reached a huge audience like a free app can do, so we decided to take a risk and release this 100% free and rely mostly on people paying what they can for quality content. More puzzles are definitely coming, some will likely be free and some may be included in an optional pack. We haven't decided on the direction to take with the additional levels and packs, but the Skeleton Key guarantees all the new content for now. The term "less puzzles" is funny to me because Luke (the mad genius behind the actual puzzle design) has nested so many hidden easter eggs and puzzles into this that it's hard to know when you're actually done. Just trust me there are WAY more things to solve than initially appears. This took us 2 years to make, it's packed full of stuff to discover. And if I say anymore Luke will yell at me I'm sure. gamingaficionado Well-Known Member Aug 9, 2017 69 1 8 #6 gamingaficionado, Sep 7, 2017 thanks for chiming in kevin and for providing more information regarding the game. i downloaded it but it's crashing right on the loading screen on my ipad mini. i know the olden thing is not fresh anymore but i thought the description on the appstore alluded to the game working on older devices. i deleted it and will redownload tonight to see if that fixes things. can't wait to dwelve into the puzzles! cheers and good luck! Shrouded in mystery, makes you think outside the box, and even having some puzzles provide hints for other ones. This is a very well made game, and I'll definitely be checking out the prequel too. 19civciV Well-Known Member Apr 9, 2015 192 0 16 Level Designer, Social Media Marketing & Managemen Nantes, France http://www.twitter.com/Vicvic91 #8 19civciV, Sep 8, 2017 Great job with this new game ! Better than the prequel so far, as the hint system help a lot when you are stuck I'm stuck on lvl.41 : hints doesn't helps and level seems glitched... Are you saying our app is making another crash? I'm not sure how that'd be possible, but I'd be interested to hear more if you could email me at [email protected] We are aware of a crash issue with older devices and will be submitting an update today to fix it, that should fix the game for a lot of folks. codeulike Active Member Apr 4, 2017 29 0 0 #11 codeulike, Sep 8, 2017 From my understanding of how iOS works its impossible for the presence of one app to affect another. All I'll say is to look for levels that are not fully grayed out. If they are grayed out then everything on that level is solved, otherwise there's more to discover... solarnya, the first two IAPs are pay-what-you-want purchases. They let customers who downloaded for free pay what they feel like the game is worth. It's a simple way to help us indie developers. We're a team of two who put 2 years into making this, so this is a simple way to say thanks. The other purchases are described in the app and can help you progress but are not required to enjoy or complete the game. By the way the new update is out now on Apple and Google and should solve all the issues with crashing or slowdowns. Please let me know if you encounter any more issues! Sexy Pirate Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2014 889 0 0 Call centre / Parent Newcastle England #18 Sexy Pirate, Sep 9, 2017 Going to sit down and play this tonight. Loved the first one but got stuck at some point and didnt go back to it as couldn't find an answer at the time to help me past. But love this type of puzzle game that makes you think while still being a game and the presentation is always pretty top notch. Will gladly pay for extra packs of puzzles as they are released and will probably drop a fiver your way for the pay what you want scheme. Pretty good pay model as this gets people playing who might not be able to afford to pay but are still interested. vectorarchitekt Well-Known Member Dec 29, 2013 2,489 177 63 #19 vectorarchitekt, Sep 10, 2017 Man, I'm all proud of myself for being clever lol, then I get stuck on 19 already. Is the gameplay similar to Device 6? I am asking because I can't tell if all of the clues to solving the puzzles in your game are indeed found inside the game itself. In other words, does the game require "external" knowledge (clue or otherwise) to decipher the puzzles in this game such as ARG puzzles? (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
