I need to amend my past post where I said that the iaps were absolutely not necessary. Unfortunately as you progress further into the game you find more uses for your old redundant equipment. It becomes quite clear after clearing the first stage that more inventory space is a real need. Your first inventory space increase only costs coins, which are easy to get with normal game play. That is good. However after that there are two more inventory space increases that can only be obtained though the games premium currency, gems. Admittedly you do get gems through achievements but they will take you a very, very, long time to reach the first inventory increase requirement of 1000 gems! You will soon see that the game is almost forcing you to spend real money to get that many gems ($3USD for 900 gems) and there is no way of knowing how much the last inventory space will cost until you purchase the one before. While this is not a game breaker for me yet, it is still something you should consider. Gosh I wish developers would cut out that iap stuff and just charge a higher premium price. I guess that 'Cash' of Clans has made them all think "no" to premium priced iOS games. ☹
I accept that in the whole scheme of iaps that this game is relatively fair with the iaps. However, I felt I needed to clarify my past post where I suggested that the iaps were totally not needed. I reiterate that I think the inventory iaps become more of a necessity as you progress and to obtain the extra inventory space I now believe you will have to invest in real money to obtain it. However if I am wrong I am more than happy to change my opinion.
Anyone know the total cost of the game with all inventory etc? I might pick the game up but would rather know the full cost rather than messing around.
Touch a square and he will move to it (turn based). While Space Grunts was a disappointment this is amazing! Im a few hours in (reached level 19) and I cant see IAPs ever being needed tbh
Ok, it's 3000 crystals for the 4th (and final) inventory slot. The chest inventory slots seem to follow a similar price pattern, starting at 1000 crystals for the first unlock. Keep in mind when you make your first (and only on the first) crystal purchase you get double the amount. Plus each item above the $.99 price gives you some bonus crystals. Also, your first purchase will come with a bunch of gold loot, one piece of each kind of wearable equipment.
Will have to see how storage goes, but think I'm going to get at least one IAP to support the dev. This game has already given me far more than $.99 of enjoyment. Knowing about that gold loot that comes with it is nice too.
I only just realised that the spinning wheel on the shop page is clickable. The first spin daily is free. Just nabbed 2,000 gold in a few seconds. As for paying for more inventory, I'm still fine with just the two pages. I'm being super efficient with it, upgrading items and doing whatever else I can to keep it to a minimum. I assume the poster mentioning he needs inventory is also managing it correctly. Maybe my max depth isnt high enough yet, but so far I still haven't needed to spend a cent. Apart from storage, you can also make the game a lot easier by buying weapons etc but that defeats the point of a game like this in my view. It's sort of like the iAP in Cardinal Quest 2, a well received f2p roguelike. In that game, one of the iAP removes the permadeath, which arguably makes it a worse, less challenging game given that it's a roguelike. I have countless hours in that game and sort of feel bad that I never paid for anything. I guess in the worse case, you're looking at a couple of dollars to expand inventory (equivalent to 4k gems for an additional two pages) and that's it. Which really just brings it up to the cost of a better quality premium game. As mentioned before, I still haven't needed to pay for inventory, but this can definitely change. If I feel I needed to fork out for some iAP I will update.
Love the gameplay, The game's icon and character design is similar, at first, to don't starve but you soon get over that once you start playing the game. Wish that everything could be bought (eventually) with ingame earned currency and not force IAP purchases.
It's almost there. Other then inventory which might just be unnecessary unless you like to horde stuff, and the reform feature at the blacksmith which I find to be useless because all it does is change the type of bonus the it has. It doesn't unlock or active it, it just changes the potential effect. And you don't get to choose what effect is added, it's random.
I don't know if this have been mentioned before, but if you hold your finger on the title screen something cool happen. Try it and see for yourself. I don't need to describe it Easily GOTW for me. Move over Space Grunts Yes, it's playable offline @zen mode: Maybe it's not so bad being bedridden. You get to play greedy cave all day (do get better) lol. Im a bit jealous since I have work to do. The more you rave about this game the more sales it get. I believe this thread is the source of most of the download greedy cave is getting their sales from
Better then space grunts ?? Maybe I need to check it out, would you say even more replay ability ? How about compared to enchanted caves 2 ?
Reform is an endgame feature for min-maxing your gear, similar to the Mystic in Diablo 3. If you have a great item that has one effect you don't like, you can reroll in the hopes of getting something better. Since you'll be upgrading gear constantly for much of your adventure, it's not worth getting too attached to gear early on so you're right, there's not much point to using it. When you start getting some epics like in the screenshots, that's a different story. The right combination of effects can make a huge difference. Believe me, developers would love that too. It's a recipe for bankruptcy. Premium game successes (that aren't ports from other platforms) are exceptions that prove the rule. At least in this game the IAP is finite, with the exception of the 50 crystal boxes in treasure rooms that give you guaranteed gold gear and the ability to buy consumables with crystal if you don't have gold. If you want to fully upgrade inventory, it's 4000 crystals. Fully upgrading your item storage is 7000 crystals. While I agree that's expensive, it's more-or-less a full game unlock at that point.
yeah, it's really good, a sweet surprise! i don't know why i've bought it just came out, but now i'm playing it more than Crashlands, Space Grunts and my other favourite, Captain Cowboy.
Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. I hadn't thought about the end game aspects. So its not useless just not useful right now, so save those crystals. #
