Just went free! Question: Does this change the balance, or is this a temporary sale price for the same unaltered game?

Just curious why there are so many bad ratings in the app store. It looks like they're all complaining about how hard this game gets and it feels like they're not getting anywhere. Like game balance issues. Apparently escape scrolls are scarce and upgrading with crystals is more likely to fail than not. Seems like the main agreement is that they think that the game is too hard since dying nets you with nothing and they can't find escape scrolls very easily. Any of this have merit? I want to start but if it's as bad as they make it sound I'd rather play some other games.
played it the last couple of days. While you CAN get some equipment, you have to rely on : find an escape scroll and as soon as you find a nice piece of gear, find the statue to make it golden -Gold are the only items that are kept - and use the escape scroll. So you progress item by item, reaallyyyy slow. It has been enjoyable, but around level 20, i had really good runs with almost full HPs, the mimics started showing and decimated me, and i lost everything both times except some crappy low level items i managed to gold in the first few floors. Definitely needs at least one scroll every 10 levels implemented. And for the love of gaming, nerf those effing mimics! Definitely fun, but it starts deminishing once you realise how slow you progess.
Every run has an escape scroll. Every. Single. Run. You just have to find it. It's almost always somewhere in the first 10 floors from wherever you start, usually on the first few, and always in a pot. If you don't break all the pots in a level, and you pass it up, that's on you.
So far this is really good. I just discovered it. I wonder if I'll run into the difficulty issues mentioned above, but for now it's really fun.
Seems good but I can't get over how there's nearly no music or it just sounds like I'm pretty much in a cave. Playing this for hours makes me wish there was some kind of adventurous music. I guess I could try using my own but those usually drown out the battle sounds.
Does someone know of a dungeon crawler similar to this but with better progression, different classes and a more complex crafting system? This game has a lot of potential but I think it's lacking in those departments.
I threw down $5 on it. This is a gem folks. I haven't been this captivated in a long time. I will check back in when I get to end game stuff.
Omg I love the music! Yes it's very ambient, and I think I've only heard 3 tracks in total, but i enjoy it very much.
i gave up on this since i can reach stage 20 and there is a *spoilers * [SPOILERS]huge boss in the middle that kills me way too fast[/SPOILERS] any tips on what you guys did to pass the stage? btw i don't know if i used the spoilers right EDIT : apparently i don't know how.
I need tips period. I mean do I rush to all stairs or kill everyone i can? Where do I find teleport scrolls or golden statues lol?
You should pick up an escape scroll within the first three levels from where you enter the dungeon. You will only find one per run unless you give yours to the npc who will ask you for it at some point. If you give it to him he will trade something for it and then you will find another one. They can be found in the clay pots so keep smashing those until you find it. Once you have it you can leave the dungeon at any time so don't let yourself die and when you feel like you might be too weak to carry on use it. Then you'll be able to re-enter the dungeon to start over. The golden angels are randomly placed throughout the the game. You will almost never see them on back to back levels so use them when you can if you have something you want to keep. Also keep you eye on the walls of the dungeon. You will occasionally see little sparkles on the walls. This marks the location of secret rooms with bonus loot and an exit to the next floor.
Ok so go looking around for pots with the scroll and keep an eye out for golden statue. Then just leave dungeon if I might die soon and keep doing this?
