TouchArcade News article on this same subject: http://toucharcade.com/2017/08/08/best-games-that-will-die-with-ios-11-32-bit-guide/ With iOS 11 Beta in full swing & the public release date closing in on us, I thought I'd fire up a thread to highlight some games/apps which are not yet 32-bit. Before we get to the list, I have spent the last week or so downloading everything to my computer. This follows me reading about the app thinning feature of iOS 9. It was brand new to me so I recommend looking it up if you don't know about this. In short, I've downloaded everything I've ever got hold of since my first iPod touch in 2008. Naturally, loads will be gone, but I now have over 3,800 apps to sift through, with almost 2,500 games in that list. Thank you to everyone that's helped with this thread so far. A-Z so far (Note, I have also tested some on iOS 10.3.3 & point out if something isn't working): The list so far is here. (This is the original list, before migrating to a Google Spreadsheet) - Another World - Baldur's Gate (In the works?) - Blazing Star - Bug Princess - Cops & Robbers (Graphics glitches on 10.3.3) - Dream of Pixels - Dream Smiles - Dungelot - Dungelot 2 - Dungeon Raid - Final Fantasy Tactics - Finding Teddy ('Like' from the Dev) - geoDefense - geoDefense Swarm (Doesn't work on iOS 10.3.3) - Germs - Greedy Dwarf - Hero Academy (I reset my password & asked support while I was there. They said HA will be updated) - Hoggy (1) - Icewind Dale (In the works?) - Indiana Stone - Infinity Blade 1 - Liquid Sketch - Max Injury 1 & 2 (Only the lite versions are on the store still) - The Mikey Series - Minigore - Mushihimesama Bug Panic - Particle Mace - Peggle - Pinball Dreams HD (Although the older 2D port is fine) - Pinball Fantasies HD (As above) - porTable - QatQi - Realistic Summer Sports Sim - Rope'n'Fly 2 (1 is no longer on the store) - Ragdoll Blaster 3 DX (1 & 2 no longer on the store) - R-Type (Update confirmed) - R-Type II - Run Roo Run - Scurvy Scallywags (Beep Games, Inc.) Confirmed by Ron Gilbert. - Shuffle Puck Cantina - Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Slayin - Speedball 2 - Stair Dismount - Steambirds - Sunburn! - Super Monster Ate My Condo - Surgeon 2 - Sway Lite (Assume the full version is also 32-bit) - Techno Kitten - Wide Sky (Not looking good) - Wurdle - X-COM Enemy Within - X-COM Enemy Unknown - Zen Bound 1 Here are my first calls to the devs... Just in case they notice; https://twitter.com/russdca/status/883344135859601408 https://twitter.com/russdca/status/883349536638369793 Non-game apps: - AppShopper - Bottom of the 9th (Animated comic) - Lil Red (Interactive Story) - TouchArcade Shame this is happening really, but it happens generation after generation. The only difference I feel is that these aren't the kind of things you can imagine being emulated in the future.
Had a couple of messages on Twitter. DotEmu have confirmed that R-Type will be updated (Not sure about R-Type 2, but hopefully). RaptiSoft have just replied too saying they're updating. Good news there too.
SoMoGa is working on Lunar but have warned that it's a really complicated fix that might take time. SE hasn't said anything about FFT. It's pretty much their only major game that hasn't been updated, so I'm kind of expecting them to do it, but who knows.
Other apps not 64 bit The appshopper app plus the touch arcade apps both dont work and the people at the appshopper app said they werent updating instead they going to focus on there website.
Thanks. There's several Slayin, Stair Dismount, Particle Mace, the Mikey series and of course the TA app.
I mean... the sale was for the anniversary. That they put it on sale is why I think they're going to update. SE has sunsetted a lot of apps and they have a pattern of not putting those games on sale just before they die. The complaints from Japanese customers would be massive.
Slightly confused..when I get to Applications all it does is tell me I have 63 apps but no option to list them, let alone tell me if they are 64bit or not ...what am I missing ?
