Cool beans, but to me, Bioshock may not have been the 'best' game I've ever played per se, however it is definately one of the most memorable.
Most memorable: 1. Uncharted 2 2. Half Life 2 3. Bioshock 4. Dragon Age Origins 5. Assassins Creed 2 Multiplayer: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood ( Amazing and original!) Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Bad Company 2, Battlefield 4 free( It's Free!!! ), Team Fortress 2.
BEST GAMES IN HISTORY: 5.- Final Fantasy Tactics (PSX) 4.- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) 3.- Silent Hill 2 (PS2) 2.- Chrono Trigger (SNES) 1.- Final Fantasy VI (SNES)
In order: 1) Uncharted 2 (Played on PlayStation 3)- Definitely eye popping graphics and an incredibly fun game. A variety of fun elements throughout the game. The story was just incredible, they're even making a movie out of the game. And, it was just wow. You have to play this game. 2) Modern Warfare 2 (Played on PlayStation 3)- Such an addicting game. Story's not incredible, but it is decent. Graphics are just fantastic. The online is the greatest part. Really, really fun. I don't know anyone who's played this and disliked it. I still play this game, it's really great. 3) Halo 1 (Played on Xbox)- Played this when I was probably in the 1st or 2nd grade. One of my all time favorite games, really fun. I couldn't stop playing this as a kid. I will never forget the countless hours spent on playing this game. 4) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Played on PlayStation 2)- Most of you are going to think this is an unusual choice, but trust me, this game was just excellent. Played it as a kid (was always a Harry Potter fan). Beat it at least 20 times (not exaggerating). One of my favorite adventure games. Just a game I won't forget. 5) Gran Turismo 3 (Played on PlayStation 2)- One of the best racing games ever made. I remember playing this a while ago, but it was so addicting. Unlocking all the licenses was just fun to the max. I regret selling it to game stop. They only took it for about two dollars. Honrable Mention Madden (Played on PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3)- The best game to pull an all nighter with your brother, friends, cousins, and dad. Pure multiplayer fun.
1. Okami 2. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes 3. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly 4. Donkey Kong Country 5. Advance Wars Bonus. Guitar Hero I suppose since everyone else seems to be explaining, I'll try to explain, as well: Okami: This was the first RPG game I had ever played (argue whether it's RPG/Adventure all you want, the fact is that it turned me on to RPGs in general ). Never had I been so pulled into a game's universe. Gaming to me up to that point was just "Play and have fun, I don't mind the story". Okami changed this, though. Between its groundbreaking gameplay, its incredible art style, and its immensely unique story, my perspective on videogames and how I appreciate them changed drastically. This is what started me into paying attention to the stories and finding what is a good story, and what is a convoluted and stupid one. Basically it changed everything about my tastes in videogames. To further this notion, it was the "gateway" for me to get into the Metal Gear Solid series, try out a bunch of RPGs, and ween myself off of just playing shooter games. I have a deep appreciation for Okami in every respect, but none moreso than the way it changed my perspective on what a game could be. I agree with Roger Ebert a lot, but his "Videogames can't be art" comment is total hogwash when you look at Okami. Metal Gear Solid- The Twin Snakes: When I first played it a few years prior, I was so bored with it. Talking, talking, talking, military, talking, talking, PLAYING!, talking, talking. So... so... boring... That was Metal Gear Solid 2, and in my pre-Okami days, so you can imagine how universally ignorant I was for videogames in general. Well after Okami, I tried to play my newfound/previously lost copy of Twin Snakes on the Gamecube, and I fell in love. The story was so great, and the gameplay was awesome. It was filled with twists and turns, surprises, and on the gameplay side of things it was pure fun. It didn't change my perspective on games like Okami did, but Okami and Metal Gear Solid worked in tandem to help me gain a better understanding of what good videogames are in comparison to mediocre ones. Metal Gear Solid 2 was amazing as well, though I didn't appreciate it as much in the end. And I'm currently working on Metal Gear Solid 3, but that's taking me a while since I constantly keep putting the controller back down and moving on to something else. Hopefully this break I can get into playing it and finally beating it, though. Fatal Frame II- Crimson Butterfly: Memorable in the sense that a videogame has never scared me so much before. Though I thought it was scary before Okami, I didn't appreciate how great the story was until after Okami. So it has everything you could want in a scary game: true terror (seriously... some of the stuff in that game has been haunting me since I played it when it first came out), a great story, outstanding atmosphere... I guess the only thing I don't like so much is the gameplay. I like it, but it takes some getting used to Still one of the most memorable games I know of, thought, if only for the fact that it does "scary" the right way. Another note of praise for Fatal Frame II: After I played it, I craved more Asian horror things, specifically films. So you can chalk Fatal Frame II up for being yet another gateway item in my pursuit of fleshing out my knowledge of film/furthering my want of a film career (from studying all those films, you know? ). Donkey Kong Country: This used to be my favorite game back when I was a young'un. I used to play it all the time at my babysitter's house, and it got to the point where I memorized the layout of almost every level. That memorization hasn't held up perfectly over the years, but the most important secrets I still remember; and no game brings an onslaught of neverending nostalgia like Donkey Kong Country. It's a product of my childhood, and the first game I can say I became genuinely addicted to. Advance Wars: Most memorable for me because of all the fun times I had in multiplayer with my best friend at the time (unfortunately we seem to be drifting apart as of late). Whenever we wanted to randomly play multiplayer, we always had our connector cables and GBA SPs close by. If there were a way to play them anywhere, we found it. The most fond memory I have is when his mom came over to pick him up, but me and him were in an intensely epic battle, so we locked ourselves in the closet and played for at least an hour more, even though his mom was banging on the door. Kind of rude of us, now that I think about it, but it was a seriously epic round, I'm telling you! Guitar Hero: Much like Fatal Frame II, this bled into my interests outside of videogames as well, but instead of film it veered towards music. Up until this point, I didn't care for music much at all. I seriously don't recall liking anything for a period of 2 years or so, and before that was my "gangsta rap" phase, which I am definitely not proud of, as you could imagine . Then Guitar Hero came out. At first I was extremely prejudiced towards it because of its focus on, well, music... Makes no sense, but that's how it was Then I played it, though, and I started getting into all the bands that were in the game. I picked up some Ozzy CDs, picked up a Megadeth CD (which led me to trying out Metallica for the first time ever)... this chain reaction lasted a little over two years. Constantly uncovering new rock music, over and over. Then Guitar Hero II came out, and it did a similar thing. I branched out my tastes even more. I became less of a metalhead and more of a Classic Rock dude. So the first two Guitar Hero games helped me branch my musical tastes out, and now I have a very broad taste in music. I thank both Guitar Hero and Rock Band for this. My favorite bands range from Senses Fail to Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus to Pixies, Mastodon to Eminem. Another thing, that's of minor note, is that those games started me in my rhythm-gaming phase, which still hasn't subsided. I can't get enough of these rhythm games, though I have since abandoned the Guitar Hero franchise (because I loathed Guitar Hero World Tour, and don't appreciate the newest ones at all... sans the iPhone version XD). Rhythm games are among my favorite genres now. --- There's my explanation for all of them. I don't mind if you don't read it, but it did feel good to write all that
In no particular order: Tomb Raider--the game that started my addiction! Thief: The Dark Project--great atmosphere No One Lives Forever-- funny, clever, and a great storyline Unreal--beautiful graphics Deus Ex--amazing in all aspects
No More Heroes The World Ends With You Gauntlet Dark Legacy The first Metroid, Zelda and Super Mario Bros had the most impact on me though. Didn't really list 5 but these are the games that stand out for me.
Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord (Apple ][+) Falcon 4.0 (Amiga 500) Halo and Halo 2 (PC) Rome: Total War and Medieval 2: Total War Tilt to Live / FlightControl / N.O.V.A. 2 (3-way tie) (iPod Touch 4G) Wizardry was the first imersive, open-ended game I played. It really oppened my eyes to what is possible. I literally played it for months. It was also the first game that I had on "floppy disk". Prior games were loaded from cassette tape. Falcon 4.0 was complex enough that I practiced flying and bombing. It also had a feature where you could link to another Amiga through a special serial cable to play head-to-head. All you had to do was lug your CRT monitor and computer to someone else's house! The two Halo games were a blast, with an entertaining story and excellent controls. They convinced me that I didn't need a gaming console. I wasn't much into RTSes until I played Rome: Total War and M2TW. I listed the three iPod Touch games as a tie because they have shown me that the iPod Touch is a viable gaming platform.
5 Most Memorable Games: 1. Super Mario 64 DS 2. Call of Duty Series 3. Halo 3 4. Rock Band/Guitar Hero 5. Mario Kart

1. Deus Ex (PC) Best story i've ever experienced in a rpg/fps game. Lots of plot twists and things to do, see and experience. The game world really felt alive, especially the market level in Hong Kong. Also partly inspred by conspericy theory's like area 51, majestic 12 and the illuminati. Also the option to choose diffent mods. For your legs you could choose to run silent or move faster, for your eyes to have beter aim and zoom or to see through walls and at night etc. 2. Theme Hospital (PC) I remember spending hours on this hospital sim. Curing people with a bloated head by popping it with a needle or people who have the elvis syndrome. Very easy to use and so much fun, you can even have an epedemic or rat plague. Great game, they should port this in ipod. 3. Full Throttle (PC) This game introduced me to point and click games and after playing this i got hooked on it. Smart oneliners and a great story with lots of humour. Still remeber knocking on the guys trailer to get a blowtorch for 30 times in a row, hilarious. This should also be an official port to ipod. 4. Yakuza 3 (PS3) I really like the story and gameworld. There are over 100 sidequests (i believe). Also a lot of games you can play, from games like poker and mahyung to pool and karaoke. And the Japanese gameworld is awesome, can't wait for Yakuza 4 wich is due to arrive next month. 5. Vampire the masquerade bloodlines (pc) Not for everyone, but pretty fun. Its an rpg game set in LA. And you play as one of the vampire races. You will encounter lots of horrormovie elements and influences. I.e. George A. Romero's night of the living dead's zombies in the graveyard and even a snuff film and surgeon who remove's bodypart from live victems for the black market. Besides that there are no fantasy influences whatsoever.
