In no particular order... Pokemon Blue: Where it all started for me. First system I owned was a Game Boy Pocket and the first real game was Pokemon Blue. Have played through it numerous times and led to me playing through the next five generations of handheld Pokemon games along with multiple other spinoff Pokemon games. Mass Effect 1/2: There is no better series when it comes to wrapping up storytelling and gameplay into one gorgeous and beautiful package. The fact that choices from the first translate into your experience in the second is truly an innovation that I'm surprised hasn't been copied by other series. I haven't played much of my XBox lately but I can guarantee that the ME3 will be a launch day purchase for me. Fallout 3: As a big RPG fan (could you tell?) and as someone who is very interested in post-apocalyptic stories like Terminator, Mad Max, Book of Eli, etc, Fallout 3 is as memorable as they come for me. Quirky characters, V.A.T.S., Alien weapons, 100 hours of gameplay, gripping storyline, and all taking place in a nuked Washington D.C. makes this one a real winner. Resident Evil 4: I can't count the number of times I played through this on my Gamecube. The best game on that system is one of the best of all time. When ever I think about the Gamecube I immediately think of Resident Evil 4. And, as you can imagine, the iOS version irritates me to my core because of how watered down it has become. World of Warcraft: It pains me to say but I was hooked for a very long time and wasted away numerous hours sitting in front of my computer playing WoW. However, it certainly is in my top five when talking about most memorable. The enormity of the game world itself is worthy of making it a truly unforgettable experience. It is truly an immersive game that makes you feel like you're really running around and battling in the fantasy world of Azeroth with your friends at your side. Of course, the fact that it sucks you in is the reason why it ruins some peoples lives and is the reason why I gave it up.
Resident Evil Series - No need to say huh ? Who doesn't heard before this superb horror series. Metal Gear Solid Series - Well i must say this is the best game i ever played ever since PS 1 Assassin's Creed 2 & Brotherhood - Very beautifully made Game ! Especially the soundtrack and graphic ! simply awesome. Grand Turismo Series - Real stuff racing God of War Series - As a PS fans , i bet you are not gonna miss this title right ? GTA series - I think this game is legend!
Im saying these in terms of campaigns anyway as thats usually where you get memorable moments. Not so much with online etc.. -Halo series -Call of Duty 4 -Pokemon Red -Dragon Age -Fallout 3
1 - Metroid (the 2D ones... Return Of Samus is my favorite) 2 - Half-Life (Series, 2 is my favorite) 3 - ECCO The Dolphin 4 - F.E.A.R. (Series, original is my favorite...) 5 - Super Mario Brothers (1-World, 3 is my favorite) =oD I'm surprised there's not more "old-school" games listed in this thread...
Interesting mix of replies! I think some of mine haven't been mentioned yet...no particular order: Super Mario Bros: My introduction to gaming Sim City 2000: My first PC gaming addiction Diablo series: Best Blizzard game, IMHO Gears of War series: I love the story, action, and 3rd person perspective Rock Band
Tough to narrow it down to five, but I won't cheat by putting in whole series . These are not necessarily the best games I've ever played, but the ones that stuck with me after I'd beaten them. *Silent Hill II: The only game about guilt that I know of. I went to Catholic school, so guilt resonates. *Deux Ex: The game looks pretty primitive now, but it's take on moral choice is still miles ahead of most games today. It sticks with you because in many ways, the game is what you make of it. *Max Payne: Wouldn't go on my list of best games, but the oppressively downbeat atmosphere stuck with me long after I finished it. *Chrono Trigger: Frog & Robo -- 'nuff said. *American McGee's Alice: Could have gone wrong in so many ways, but didn't. Probably my favorite main character in gaming.
Really hard to pick 5 but in no particular order, here goes.. Super Mario Brothers 3 Final Fantasy 3/VI Secret of Mana Street Fighter 2 Fallout 3 You should check out A Boy and His Dog if you haven't seen it.
The five most memorable games of mine : 1. Prince of Persia - sands of time 2. Halo 2 3. GTA - Vice City 4. King of fighters 98 5. Street fighter
Half Life 2-the best FPS in history. Every time I play an FPS now, I wish I had a gravity gun Fallout 3-Incredible game. I will never forget when I exited the cramped vault and felt so overwhelmed by the wasteland stretched out in front of me Daxter/Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core (on the PSP)-Such amazing games, on such a small device Halo Reach-sorry to sound fanboy about this one, but every element of it is brilliant, from the epic campaign to the intense multiplayer. Just a notch below Half Life 2 Batman Arkham Asylum-seamlessly combined 3 very different gameplay elements (stealth, hand to hand combat, freaky 2D platforming). The combat system is the best I have ever used, and I loved unlocking new gadgets. The Scarecrow scenes are some of my most memorable gaming moments. Probably my favorite game ever. Can't wait for Arkham City
1. Pokemon (my first videogames) 2. Warhawk (changed my way of viewing games. Forever. Also my first shooter.) 3. Minecraft (PC survival? Crafting? Building? Awesome.) 4. MAG (256 players. That's new. Too bad it's dying.) 5. IDK.
Good picks from some folks in here. Mine are hard to muster up but I guess they will go by amount of time I dumped into these damn games. Phantasy Star Online (Dreamcast, then PC, then GC. I dumped hundreds upon hundreds of hours on each system) Tie: Demon's Crest (SNES)/Pokemon Series (All for the gameboys) Golden Eye 007 (N64) Fallout Series (1 &2 on PC, FO3 on PS3 and New Vegas for 360) Tie: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1)/Starcraft (PC/N64)
Well, I guess I'll change my list if were going on how much time we've put into a game. 1.) Dynasty Warriors 4. Just... Wow. I spent mos of one summer playing this game just to unlock everything. 2.)Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution. I've beaten the quest mode with one character and keep going with them just to see if I can get him to the highest possible rank. Still my favorite fighting game of all time. 3.)Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. My favorite skateboarding game of all time. I've beaten it a few times over now and still cant help but to beat the campaign over and over. 4.)Paper Mario. Almost beat the game once and got over halfway through on two other files. One of the few RPGs that I didn't get lost in and give up on. 5.)1080 Avalanche. Really underrated. I've played re game to the point where I've broken almost every record in the game and am really close to getting 100% completion. I never play a game to that point. Honorable Mentions: -Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty -Chrono Trigger -Custom Robo -Pokemon Gold -Dragonball Z Budokai 3
Uncharted 2 (PS3) - Probably my favorite game of all time, just sayin'. It had an amazing story, narrative, graphics, and gameplay. Super Mario 64 (N64) - One of my first 3D games, epic. Fallout 3/New Vegas (PS3) - One of my favorite fps and rpg games, left an impression on me. Bioshock (PS3) - The environment! Don't even get me started with other reasons! Ratchet and Clank (PS2) - This game just wowed me, probably one of my favorite franchises and devs.
Tetris (Gameboy) Super Mario (Gameboy) Zelda - Link To The Past (Gameboy) Phantasmagoria (PC) Thief - Dark Project (PC)
Though obviously most people disagree with me, I found Bioshock overrated. Ya, it had a different setting, but the gameplay did not really wow me in any way. Not to say it was bad-I'd give it a definite 9/10, but I wouldn't rank it as one of the best games in history, as many people do
