There are always those games that leave a deep impact on us; they suck us into a world of fantastic gameplay while we lose hour after hour of our time ogling over the graphics, story, sound/music or just the overall polish of the game.

So my question to you is this: What are the five most memorable games you've played? Here are mine.. you can put up a short sentence or two justifying your response, but you don't need to:

    1. Uncharted + Uncharted 2 (PS3)

I haven't played a game till date with such a high production value and overall wow-factor. An action-packed, fun-filled ride from start to finish, I can't think of a single other game which deserves the cake more than UC2 (and Uncharted).

    2. Tie: Chrono Trigger (SNES) & Final Fantasy VII (PSX)

With an amazing cast of characters and a great storyline, these two RPG's have been in my Hall of Fame for a long, long time.

    3. Deus Ex

While I don't remember much about the actual game right now, I can't forget the way I felt while playing through Deus Ex for the first time. I was sucked in, held, mind-blown, and left wanting more after it finished. It was a close call between this and Half-Life on this list, but I enjoyed DE's SP campaign a bit more.

    4. The Mortal Kombat Series
Even though it went down the drain long-back, the lines I endured at arcades waiting to play this in the 90's makes worthy of being #4 on my list. I remember people (actually, the 'best players') who used to play in the arcades, used to bring cheat-sheets - printouts with all the characters' moves & fatalities listed on them. The internet was still uncommon during these days and without the cheat sheet, there was little-to-no hope for other contenders.

It all went downhill after MK3, but the ride till there was amazing.

    5. Tie: Unreal Tournament / 2003 / 2004 Online and Action Quake 2

UT was the first big JUMP in online first person shooters we all saw... the landscapes, graphics, models, textures and weapon variety seen in this game was the first of its kind after the Quake Series of games (which dominated online gaming at the time). A true joy to behold online; Facing-Worlds Capture the Flag is UT online at its best.

Action Quake 2... ahhh... unforgettably the best multiplayer modification for Quake 2. With endless maps, realistic weapons (for the time), attachments (laser sight, silencers, silent slippers), and by god, the most fun weapon of all: throwing knives, it was such a blast for clans at the time to get going against each other.

    Cliff2... Deepcanyon... Urban3... ahhhhh

    Mass Effect series:
I found this to be such an amazing experience, great story combined with fluid TPS and lots of content, Bioware doesn't disappoint.

    Dragon Age:
One of my all time favorite games with the best story I've ever seen in a game with sweet tactical combat that encourages you to be strategic about how you do things rather than mindless hack and slash. Best RPG ever IMO

    Warcraft 3:
One of my first RTS games I ever played and it's one of the best still. Campaign was pretty cool but the online was the best with all the modding.

    GTA San Andreas
Probably one of my favorite GTA games that got me hooked into the series with such a massive gameworld and so much content it kept me playing for hours on end.

    Enviro Bear 2010:
    Need I say more?

    Elder Scrolls: Morrowind
One of the best RPGs ever, and I still haven't finished the main story.

    Super Mario Galaxy
A work is creative genius. Miyamoto is a deity.

    Unreal Tournament 2004
I kicked a lot of ass and killed a lot of hours with this game.

    Grand Theft Auto IV
I don't even own this game, but the few times I played it at a friends house... Wow... It definitely left an impression.

    Half Life 2
Probably the best game I've ever played.

    1. Pokemon Platinum/Pokemon Blue (Nintendo) Pokemon is still expanding, for the better and for the worse, but it still sells and I am one valued customer :) Put a lot of hours into the Pokemon games, especially Pokemon Platinum.

    2. Dead Space (Xbox 360) Not as scary as I thought it would be but the whole story and gameplay felt so amazing that I finished the game in two days. Played the game a second time to unlock everything, finished in four days :D

    3. Halo series (Xbox 360) Just an awesome series!

    4. The Emperor's New Groove (Playstation) Disney games are entertaining and this one was the best of them. Don't know why but I thought it was very well made. Funny too.

    5. Rolling Thunder 3 (Sega Genesis) Had no clue what was going on in the game but the gameplay hooked me into it.

    Others-
Command and Conquer: Tiberiun Sun (PC), Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (Playstation), Assassin's Creed series (Xbox 360), Mario Galaxy 1 (Wii), Super Smash Bros series (Nintendo)...

    1. Pokemon Gold - For me, it all started with Gold and I still play Pokemon despite being 20. These games have never gotten old for me.

    2. Unreal Tournament - In my high school, there was a classroom where people would go at lunch time to do one thing: frag others. There were like 20 computers inside and the teacher was awesome. It was first come first served so we all rushed after class really. :D The downside? Lunch time only felt like 5 minutes. :(

    3. Kirby's Dreamland - Spent countless hours trying to beat it. Always fun.

    4. Dragon Warrior Monsters - Good series. Still have my save file from way back when. Still have my powerful boss monsters.

    5. MarioKart DS/Metroid Prime Hunters - While going to and from school in the bus, people who had DS's would play this and of course I would join in the fun.

1.) The Metal Gear Solid series - All I can say about these games is... wow. The three games that I've played (The original, Sons of Liberty, and Snake Eater) all sucked me in to the point where I played literally no other game until I had beaten it. I even spent an entire weekend playing absolutely nothing but the original MGS (admittedly I was sick that weekend, but it was still incredible). The whole storyline surrounding Snake and the rest of the dudes trying to stop numerous terrorist attacks that turn out to be more than originall expected never fails to blow my mind. Even on consecutive playthroughs I've been amazed more than almost every other game I've played.

2.) The Phoenix Wright series - What can I say? It's only the best adventure game series I've ever played. Every single case that I've played so far has shocked me more than most games I have. The characters are so well made that you feel like you know them personally, the cases are ridiculous yet plausible for the most part (well, the supernatural stuff going on is a bit over the top, but not a big deal), and the writing is straight up fantastic. Plus, I personally enjoy law, courtroom drama, etc., and I partially accredit this game with getting me into that sorta thing (I'm a lawyer for my school's mock trial team, and it's a lot more interesting than I would have originally thought). Awesome cases, sick writing, and amazing characters make this one of the greatest series ever, and have sucked me in since case 1 of game 1.

3.) The Final Fantasy series - I know that there's a new universe for almost every game, but I'm mostly talking about Final Fantasy VII and X. I've played both those games quite a bit, particularly X, and it's amazing. Each game has you sucked into its own little universe, believing everything that it says in the context of the game. It's something really incredible, and to create such deep worlds for every single game is a feat in itself. I always find myself immersed in the characters, vast worlds, differing (yet somewhat similar) races and peoples, and just overall love the games and storylines.

4.) Fallout 3 - This game is the epitome of taking the player and making them feel like a part of the game, rather than controlling it from the outside as with the other games on my list. Every thing you do in the game feels like you personally committed the act, whether it's help out a stranded survivor, save a town from a gang of vandals, or kill civilians. Not only does it impact you in the game, but sometimes how you feel about the game. I know I've accidentally killed a character and felt terrible about doing so, only to reload the game so that they weren't dead, haha. It feels like you fighting for survival, not some character that you have almost complete control over. That, combined with the MASSIVE world makes for one of the most immersive games of all time.

5.) The Monkey Island series (particularly The Curse of Monkey Island) - Gotta love Monkey Island... Aside from Phoenix Wright, it's easily the best adventure series to ever exist. They're by far some of the funniest games to ever exist, and aside from Beavis and Butthead in Virtual Stupidity, might just take first place for that. The constant sarcastic and slapstick humor, the great characters, and the fact that they always acknowledge that they're in a video game rather than it being real to them, and just the overall levity of the games just makes it one of the most enjoyable games ever. Not only that, but the games' continuing story is actually really good, as opposed to other humor-based games like Beavis and Butthead, which had a mediocre plotline but enough humor to make up for it tenfold. Simply put, it all comes together to make one of the best adventure games ever.

    Runners Up:

-The Resident Evil series (up until Resident Evil 4)
    -The Paper Mario series
    -Clock Tower (the SNES one)
    -Silent Hill
-The campaigns for Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call of Duty 4, and Black Ops.

Goldeneye (N64) - for it's time it was very good graphically and had amazing (primitive) destructable environment. Multi-player was so good, especially at birthday parties when lots of people are round. Still get my N64 every so often to re-lie my memories!

THPS3 (PS2) - the first skating, or even sporty game I played, still play it to this day despite completing it hundreds of times over!

Pokémon Blue (Gameboy Colour) - a fun, immersive game that whiled away hundreds of hours! Again, I still play this sometimes.

Assassin's Creed 2 (PS3) - great graphics, with attention to detail, such as outfit dripping when you get out of water. Kill hours of time on story and side quests.

The Sims 1 (PC) - The best of the franchise. Many hours passed with this game, but sadly I have no XP computer to play it on :( I even have an unplaye expansion pack which I'm dying to play! Haha

I need to get out more...

    Hmmmmmm.....

    1. Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of time, I always have loved fantasy, whether it's movies, books or anything else. And to me, this was the first game I played that really captured the "spirit" of fantasy. I'll never forget this game.

    2. Age of Empires 2: Man I played this one so much, whether it was when I connected my brother's computer to our mom's and played multiplayer or it was me just trying to build the most invincible fortress ever. Or the hours we spent on trying to make a helm's deep scenario though we could never get the ai to work right. Good Times.

    3. Star wars battlefront: My parents were very strict about violence in games, so this was the only first person shooter they would approve of since it was star wars. And I played this more than the time I've spent playing any other shooter game. I had every level and weapon memoorized far more than I ever have before.

    4. Super smash brothers melee: Due to my parents strictness, they of course would not let us buy a console. (all our gaming was on a pc) Fortunately, our next-door neighbors were two boys about our age that had a gamecube. We would walk over to their house almost every day and play super smash brothers, just the four of us for hours. Then we ultimately got a gamecube and eventually a wii, where brawl was a big improvement but nothing will ever beat melee.

    5. Civilization 2: Up in me and my brothers rooms, my parents gave us an old computer. No internet or anything, and they wouldn't even let us keep games upstairs. The computer was supposed to be used for homework and simple word processing. But whenever I was supposed to be doing homework I was playing Civ2. Spending hours building empires and conquering other civilizations.

    In no particular order:
    1. TES Morrowind: The best rpg game ever.
    2. GTA4: It was laggy and glitchy on my computer but it was fun as hell to play and is the best example on how open-world games should be made.
    3. Fallout 3: The amazing atmosphere and humor plus the awesome gameplay puts this game high on my list.
    4. CS Source: CS laughs in the face of all modern day shooters, its a game about pure skill, reflexes, and teamwork.
    5. Halo CE: This is where gaming started for me, I remember the day when I played Halo on my friend's Xbox and thought "video games are pretty cool". I will never forget this game and its awesome campaign+multiplayer.

    In no particular order:

    - Syphon Filter
First mature game I played. Had guns, espionage, everything.

    - Crash Bandicoot
Very first game I played all the way back in 96.

    - GoldenEye 007
I remember all the late night multiplayer sessions with my cousins.

    - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Soundtrack of this game is unparalleled to today's games.

    - Legend of the Dragoons
First RPG I played. Lots of grinding.

Hard question... Wow um scooby doo and the cyber chase (ps2) just the most memorable in my life not the best though of course.

And dead space too probably my most favorite

Condemned 2: Bloodshot: just an insane but great game.
