That shouldn't be a problem. If you can use a weapon you can add poison to it. Only reason you might not be able to is trying to during combat (not allowed - do it before entering combat), you're trying to use a higher level poison without the skill level to do so, or you've run out of poison (the skill only works if you've acquired the poison to do so.) You can buy at two places. In the sewers is one (has all the levels of poisons) and another I can't remember (only stocks the lower level ones.) On another note, I got Helga's Ring! Off to kill Og now. P.S. When I say buy, well you are acquiring it from thieves, so more violent means are available.
how could i open locked chests as a mage? where can i buy a good staff and some good equipment for a mage?
There's a locked chest skill, next to the fire elemental skill, that you get automatically. Just link the skill to your action bar, and use it like a spell to open locked chests. As for equipment, I'm still waiting too. On the plus side, I have so little to spend my money on, I've bought a pipe and some tobacco...
Look at the top row of the Skills window. Note that if you open a wrong chest you'll be branded a criminal and will be attacked by lawful citizens on sight. If you don't know if a chest opening can change your state, create a save point first. If you unfortunately didn't, visit the sewers and find a man who can help for a price. The best gear you can buy is at Cold Sands Hold. However you can only get a hood at "Benn's Helms & Pauldrons" in West Callaheim. Will cost a pretty penny to get all of them. Some chests and drops will be even better in the later parts of the game. You'll only be able to get a cloak via drops, chests, or completing a quest.
I found a great staff outside, in a chest on the small island in Lake Craythorn. Power 30. It's really helping with those Witchdoctors. Anyway, so happy to be here with you guys. I'm having great fun so far, though only doing quests around the first town at this point.
Sitting in the in at Taryn Ridge. Photo won't upload. # Ironically I owned the game already. I'm not sure why I didn't play it. I'm my typical Ranger/Rogue (even in D&D it's how I roll) now and it's a blast! Can't wait to get further in. Thus far, house and horse!
If you're using the app, you can't add attachments anymore. It's been broken for awhile. It works on the website though.
For anyone having issues uploading screenshots with the app or website, I've been running my normal screenshot through a free app like Afterlight to export it as a jpeg at a much smaller size than the 4mb png screenshots. Takes thirty seconds and solved my problem entirely.
Hey there everyone, how's it going? Just joined the forums to participate in this project. It seems like a really fun idea. ANyways, I see that this topic isn't getting as much attention as the first month which is a shame. Hopefully it'll pickup as we go along. I just started playing this just now. Picked a Male Elf Paladin, as I've heard that elves get the best loot drops, and Paladin is easy to play. That and Females apparently attack slower(with nothing to make up for it. (Gee, thanks developers!) I found this out from a guide. If anyone wants the link I'll post it. Oh, and i played this a year or 2 ago. From what I remember of this game, It's...eh, it's not bad, but it's kinda slow and the dialogue is funny for all the wrong reas. I just watched the beginning. It's supposed to be really sad, but it just felt really awkward, and I ended up laughing at it. But I do remember getting a lot of out it.
Finally, at the beginning of Day 6 Krötenbändiger arrived in Taryn Ridge. He took his time, explored several caves infested with Gnolls, killed the chief of the local bandits --- Stronghand --- and went fishing in the river (but didn't catch anything; neither did he kill the deer). In Stronghand's liar there was a chest that couldn't be opened. He had hoped to find a key after killing Stronghand himself, but nothing was found. And summoning Krötenbändiger's spirit animal was a total failure: It just fell from a bridge! Is everyone playing on Normal? I already died several times, so this seems to be the right choice. But being given that kind of choice of a game always makes me wonder.
I'm playing on Normal and I've died a few times myself. I'm hoping it doesn't get too easy at the end because I don't think there's a way to change it.
i play in normal but im stil to weak to kill the rutians bandits in callaheim. but i need the money the wear, so i run away to the next city guard , and let them do my job .. not very brave but lucrative. not sure how i can level up faster, seems quite hard in some areas.
I just make sure to do every quest I can. There is a lot of experience to be had in the Callaheim Guild quests. You can tell how difficult the quest will be by looking at how much experience you'll earn for completing it. I just start with the low ones and work my way up.
That's how I do it. Also, for those new to the game, don't start the "Into the Mansion" quest until after you've finished the "A Knecklace of Amethyst" quest from Finnius Goldring. You'll miss out on some awards if you do.
My human ranger Jeff made a friend today. No idea how the level scaling for summons work. I'm level 8 apparently the wolf is 4.
