One of my favorite iOS games. It manages to find a home on every new device I get. Played through multiple times with each class. My mage builds must not be optimal because their squishiness makes it more difficult to progress than with any class other than the rogue. Paladin is the easiest to use for me. Don't forget to keep Helga's ring in your inventory because it grants the power of flight!
Looks like fun. Played it like mad back in the day. Sad to hear about iOS 10 problems with audio. Going for a male elf Mage to start with. Edit: And it begins! I hate giving bad news.
still my favorite RPG on iOs or from the crescent moon rpg games. I wished a remake was planned, with more content and better graphics.
Alrighty! I have had this game since it came out but never played it much. This is a great opportunity to give it another go! Also, I am still trying to beat Final Fantasy. I am just about to get the 4th crystal so I should be pretty close. I will let you all know what I choose to play as when the game downloads.
OK - I'm up and running. I was all set for going as an elf ranger, then read Shaun's post and thought I'd go for a dice roll instead. Rolled a five, which meant a human or elf mage (no trolls). Then split the die again, 1-3 for human, 4-6 for elf. Luke Rhinehart, eat your heart out. Anyway, I'll be an elf mage, named Kvist. Quite intrigued to get stuck into the game. I've known about it for ages, but might never have downloaded it if not for this series. If nothing else, it will give me an idea of what to expect from Morphite when Crescent Moon release that later this year.
I turned audio off and the game runs perfect. Thanks for the tip! For my toon I did the random roll but I did it for class, gender and race! My random roll gave me a Human Male Rogue. I typically don't play rogues so this should be interesting. My toons name is Romell.
I've never thought about "rolling a dice" to start a player on customizable RPGs. From now on I intend to that, instead of looking for the "perfect" powerplay builing. Who knows, I might find a roleplay build from now on.
Yeah man on these type of RPGs it is fun to play a random player but it can also be frustrating. In these Play alongs we want to hear random stories and what better way than a random character! Plus table top games would determine your player by dice rolls too so why not do that in video games? Oh and doing it via dice roll takes the stress out of creating a character.
There is an easy way to level up quickly if you use a character class with pets. In the Thieves' Guild in the sewer there are two enemies, one male one female. If you enter that room and distract them with a pet, you can run around the edge of the wall at the far side of the room and stay there. Once they kill your pet they will run directly toward you, but there will be a wall between you and them. At this point you can cast whatever will damage them without any risk of taking damage yourself. If you're at a low level when you try it the battles will take a few minutes but the XP you will receive will absolutely make up for it.
feels like coming home, remembered when i found the secret way through the gnoll lake in the gnoll lair, it's still a impressive thing. but i never played as a mage, i had to kill lots of wolfes to level, up, just to be strong enough to engage the knoll shamans. looks tiny on my phone SE and there are some strange lightning effects with the torches but the music works!
Well I wanted a Mage but the roll must be obeyed. Meet Jeff, my human ranger! Excited to try this game.
Hi there, Shaun. This is a game I started a few years ago and never finished, but had fun with for a while. I just reinstalled it and rolled a virtual die that came up Mage, so I'll give that a shot starting this evening (I think I was a thief on my previous playthrough). Should be fun!
How are the monthly games decided? A vote would be fun. I for one have been looking for an excuse to finally play Chronotrigger
