I went and had another look at my stats. I did pick up telekenisis so you can open chests from virtually anywhere without fighting the enemies. I maxxed every Critical Hit branch and then focused on potion efficacy not duration. I never really crafted any potions so the duration bonus was of no consequence. Either way, it's your character, play it how you want it
3rd run, and I'm down 50 levels right now, I actually find investment in magic is quite good! Right now regen roots are of +4 hp regen and +2 mana regen. Ten hp regen heals only 40 hp, but 10 of mana regen give enough mana for heal spell, which easily replenish 120 hp(3 times more efficient) after every battle! And with magic investment, spellblades hit really hard at a cost of merely 8 mana.
Sounds like you're plowing along quite nicely, I'm happy to hear that. At the end of the day, it's your character so play it to whatever play style you want. With the build I articulated earlier, I cleared the last boss at level 25 and had the game beat within a day. I can only share what worked for me but I'm glad you have something working for you. Keep me updated, I would love to heat how your build fares at 80-90.
I'm convienced mana regen is the better way to go for sustainability. It heals more, and unlike hp regen, mana never come to waste while enemies can't hurt you, you can transmute everything. BTW, revealer is a great skill since it reveals secret passes. Two questions, is it possible to un-socket a crafting material from the equipment? And is there a reliable way to get certain material?
Just enchant the item again. Look on the top right quarter of the screen for the enchantment options and make sure you are getting what you want. Been a couple weeks since I played but I think you can farm items a little bit. Best to transmute the pieces you want and then grab more on another run. Magic ultimately is not that useful because the potions can heal 450 life (and that's without increased potion efficiency), and the damage you can do with the spells vs healing yourself is questionable...handy in some situations like if a boss has a weakness, or you can one hit kill (which isn't going to fly much at levels 80+) but then why not make a potion to increase your attack of that element with every hit? I think critical hits are the way to go, especially on levels 80+. But this is part of the fun. Kudos again to the dev
Finished. At level 27. The boss doesn't make too much sense, when you can drink infinite supply of potions. I was just gonna peek at his stats, but the fight is forced after cut scene, well.
Yeah, maybe there should be a max for how many potions you can carry. If the developer makes a sequel, having recipes you can easily craft potions you have made before would be great...like being able to favorite and/or name a potion the color codes are helpful...it's tempting to go alchemist in this but the management of the potions takes away from the potential fun of that. It would also be nice to have set bonuses, like if you go all ninja or Mage, etc. The concept is really great for a roguelike and I appreciate the story threaded through it. I've got my fingers crossed for a sequel and wish the dev the best. One thing: it would be nice not to lose access to some of the quests just because you have gone too deep in the dungeon. If you have a particularly successful run you might miss something you would like!
Just beat the Level 100 final boss and it said New Game + would be available and I keep all my stuff. I quit out of the game, since I couldn't go anywhere, but I don't see the NG+ option and didn't keep my loot. Enter the cave and the highest level option is 90. Bug?
Also. The Summoned shows up in my bestiary and all of the people in the town are saved and delighted. But I still can't find NG+.
I played the original Enchanted Cave a while ago and wasn't sure if a sequel would ever come out. Glad it did though! This game's a lot of fun and worth the purchase. It expanded and improved on all the ideas from the first to make a great gaming experience and I'm happy for the creator it turned out so well.
Damn Sam! Cool new update but it didn't solve my issue of not getting NG+. My nice new Save Game slot even has last level completed 100 listed. Syonarra.
@Dustinaux: I think The Greedy Cave has taken many ideas from your game and turned them into a premium game with IAP's... There are secret rooms as in your game, with secret pages explaining what the cave is about through other adventurers, etc. Anyway, I hope the other game's hype helps your game relaunch. I wasn't aware of all this similarity until very recently... Pity In any case, finally bought and played your game. It's amazing and, as you say, fully premium with no IAP whatsoever.
+1 Bought and played through five floors and while there had been mention of this game in that ...other game's thread.... I had no idea how similar it really was. But the silver lining is that it helped me find this one and I'm loving it so far!
Make that +2. I've also found my way here via Greedy Cave. I think that game is pretty cool, but playing Enchanted Caves 2, it's like I've found my way to where it all started. I couldn't be more pleased.
It's weird how two games very similar to each other can coexist like they do here. I have both on my device and still play them both a lot.
Damn, I just died and lost everything I'd earned playing this weekend. I had all my gear tuned to hp and mana regen and could walk away from most encounters with more hp than I had going in. Until I reached floor 61. Lol.
Wow, that sucks. I haven't had time to play anything lately, but I'll be cautious when I get to floor 61
