The engrish is pretty funny. The controls are tight. Overall a fun game. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #4 squarezero, Jan 23, 2016 Let's see: we have a story-driven action platformer with tight controls, complex level design (including multiple paths and secret areas), RPG elements, decent pixel art and animation, collectibles and achievements, boss fights, NPCs, a fair amount of challenge, and, as far as I can tell, decent number of levels. Oh, and it's premium with no IAPs. It's no Dust, but still pretty darn good, and a welcome Saturday surprise. A post like squarezero's on such an interesting and good looking platformer...i jumped over my 2pgaw-rule, and yep, nice Goblin and Xolan's sword vibes come up. I'm only 4 levels in and my reckless playstyle was punished quickly. Quite a nice little challenge right from the beginning. Great! Super tight and customizable controls, in-game achievements, hidden rooms, upgrades and much more...everything i want. I had twice a little frame drop on my 5s, 8.4.1, but after a reboot it runs smooth again. Well worth the two bucks, you zealots. cthulhufan Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Sep 5, 2013 145 0 0 Systems Engineer Missouri #9 cthulhufan, Jan 23, 2016 Same here, looks very cool. I'm really digging the art style. How are the controls? squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #10 squarezero, Jan 23, 2016 See comments above . I should note that there's a surprising amount of depth here, especially on the RPG aspects of the game. Not only are weapons upgradable, but they have different abilities -- going for higher damage could remove your magical abilities, for example. As you level up you, you choose between more HP, more damage, or higher chance for a crit. Armor can also be upgraded, you can purchase (with in-game gold) buffs for particularly difficult levels, etc. Qwertz is absolutely right, BTW: careless play will definitely get you killed. Why is it every time a game costs money some knob has to chime in with this exact post. "Hey, you said you spend money on games, right? Well *hands on hips*...go on!" Like as if we owe every dev who doesn't make freemium games our money, regardless of whether or not we actually want the game. Pisses me off. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,715 1,240 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #16 squarezero, Jan 24, 2016 Obviously, you should spend money only on games that you find interesting. I would be very surprised, however, if there aren't many hardcore anti-freemium gamers who find a game like this appealing. It pisses me off (to use your language) that those folk are not out there on the lookout for cool premium games to support. In any event, I was just trying to challenge those who are quick to complain about freemium games to be just as quick to support an excellent premium one. As much as I like running through slashing everything, this game won't let you. It makes you think out a lot of your moves. I'm not super far into it yet, but from the looks of it, it's got a whole bunch of levels and it looks like it's got quite a bit of depth to it. I can't see a better way to spend a couple of bucks right now.
