Oh yeah, I remember corporation. Do you remember another sci-fi one called Infestation? I think it was by psygnosis.
No, I dont. Although Psygnosis was one of my absolute favorite developers/publishers. Will look it up! There was an underwater dungeon crawler during that time that I also loved. Cant remember name nor dev, but I enjoyed that a lot. Was set in an underwater station where ppl got infected. Some kind of a VERY early version of Bioshock.
Old? I prefer to just think of it as "Well versed in gaming history... (uh, due to having been there)".
Or more like "knowledgeable" people who have been present and played them at the time of inception/release.
The original dungeon master and all of the dungeon crawlers inspired by it were what got me into computer games in the first place. Amiga 500 Amiga 1200 Good times! Hey Rosso, if you ever remember that underwater game you mentioned I sure would like to know what it was...
It sounds like you guys need to join the Facebook group Steve and I are in. It's all about dungeon crawlers, and there's tons of like minded fans there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1534627476758967/
Definitely! If nothing else, the group is a great way to hear first-hand news on upcoming dungeon crawlers that you might not hear about otherwise. Awesome games like... I don't know... The Deep Paths, for example. Also quite a few developers there posting directly about progress on the games they're making, screenshots, etc.
So how can this be listed as a hot new game on the TouchArcade main page but you are unable to get it? Perhaps TA needs to look at their quality control methods and stop worring about Apple and Valves?
Hot Games is based on frequency of forum posts, so in a situation like this (when a game is pulled but people are still talking about it) it's bound to be misleading.
That listing goes by post activity on threads, afaik. And it's under "hot new games" cause the thread is in the "released" subforum and not in "upcoming". And 8 pages is not too shabby for a game they had to pull and not much information coming in, e.g. it's not a beta/upcoming thread with screenshots, previews, etc.
I see. So a hot new game could be one where people are just posting in its thread talking about the meaning of life rather than the game itself. Opps hang on a sec......I just contributed to this being a hot new game. #
The algorithm has a bit more to it than that, but, yes. Generally the idea is it's reflective of things our community is interested in.
