I'm definately getting this one seeing how impressed I was with Wild West Pinball. It was amazing! I keep coming back to it every day, it's so good! This will be one awesome game.
The original plan was for this to be released before OS3.0. As it is now being released post OS3.0, I would really have preferred that this be an in app purchase from WWP (which is now free). This would have allowed one icon and two tables. The in app purchase could change the icon to make it more generic, as well as add a menu to select b/t the two games. There really is no reason not to do this as WWP is free and everyone can thus download it. IMHO, this would have been a more elegant approach. In fact, there is no reason not to have both options for purchase: 1. purchase The Deep as a separate game (for those who are philosophically opposed to having the free WWP) 2. Purchase The Deep as an in app purchase (for those who are more progressively minded).
I am MUCH more likely to make in app purchases instead of buying a bunch of separate apps that have variations of the same game. A pinball app that allowed the purchase of new tables would be absolutely perfect.
Apple's policies don't permit it. The in-app purchase for a free game must be free. However the dev can release a free update to include the old table into the new game.
I sure hope so, I have been wondering what's taking so long. The game trailer was a few weeks ago now and Wild West Pinball has fell from the #1 Free Sales Spot too....I bet they wish it was already out too !
Yep, it's a shame they couldn't build on the impact WWP had when it went free. They'll have to start from scratch now in terms of "noise".
I wasn't the biggest fan of Wild West, but judging by their The Deep trailer, the new pinball looks much better designed, with a lot more things to see and do. I've been waiting for this one patiently, and will get it the moment it comes out. Only thing I hope is that they won't lock framerate to 40FPS this time for owners of faster hardware (3GS). Let it go to 60FPS on it.
Doubtful. For the long time WWP wasn't free, but I think it was only $1 or $2. They eventually made it free, presumably to increase the mindshare before the release of The Deep.
