Game Impressions Holy cow, Batman! Am I playing this on my iPhone?! Gameloft's completely redeemed themselves from the disappointing gameplay and graphics engine Spiderman had to offer. Not only does this game run like butter on my 4S with no hiccups at all, but the battle system and combos are pretty nifty too (albeit limited so far). It's a one button mashing system, with the occasional pop-in button to counter an incoming foe's assault in between. The game seems to follow the movie's story and dialogue loosely, and hence i'm not going to be play any further for now (just met Selina; she gave her whole "there's a storm coming" speech, though in a different setting). Very, very pleased with this title so far - a big, big step up in every direction from Spiderman. Two thumbs up! EDIT 1: Not sure yet to what extent you can "free roam", but it seems to be executed quite nicely. You can glide around the city at your leisure, though it does get a bit dull quickly. I'm very impressed with the night-time visuals and atmosphere they've managed to cram in here, though. And thankfully, there's no "night-bloom" or other 'shiny effects' that cut down the FPS... no sir, it seems to be running beautifully so far, even in crowded fights. No stuttering!
Early Impressions Ok first off Gameloft gave this special treatment compared to The Amazing Spider-man (which I hated, and felt was rushed).Batman is much more polished and its evident more care was put into Batman, just the way Batman fights is exactly the way you would expect him to fight. The voice acting is done well unlike spidey. The open world is nice unlike Arkham Asylum. The plot and the story line are soild (interesting the way the game opens). Its early on but very pleased so far.Definitely worth checking out.
Please do, I am dying to know how it runs on iPhone 4. The Amazing Spider-Man was extremely laggy on iPhone 4.
HIP HIP... HOORAY This is the only game that is going to get me to buy back into Gameloft. After that disatorous attempt at dungeon hunter 3.... Talk about coming back with a bang! I HOPE THIS DOESN'T DISSAPOINT WOOHOOOO!
Played a bit more - just past the first encounter with Bane... nothing but positive things to say about this title. The lighting and shadow effects are impressive! Combat animations are fun to watch, though I'm sorely missing a combo system (and counter) from the console counterparts. There's not much strategy involved in fights, but at least the animations and hit detection is pretty good. Wondering if it's worth picking up Arkham City for 0.99?
Oh hey all, one important thing needs to be asked! Will this spoil the storyline of the film? I was going to watch it even without this tie in game to sell it.... But I don't want to know the film before I get into it...
Somehow sanuku's videos says it's private and I can't watch... Thankfully there's positive impressions, I'm in Huge file size though.
Someone asked that question on Twitter, and Gameloft replied that the game does follow the same story as the film, apart from the ending. The tweet has since been removed though. They probably decided it was bad for business.
The other Batman title for ios is worth playing. It is strictly fighting though (no exploring) with gadgets.
