RIP to those who lost their lives at the dark knight film last night & many wishes to the many that was injured I hope for a speedy recovery, good game-good film-sad story
Watched the movie last night, and IT WAS EPIC. But anyways, the game somewhat follows the movie, at least better than spiderman. The comic cutscenes you see contain real dialogue from the movie, which I guess you can say contains spoilers. I haven't played the game till the end to find out if it spoils the epic conclusion of the movie.
No disrespect to anyone, but whoever compared this game to Arkham City doesn't know what he is talking about. It's not comparable in any way, shape or form as far as quality goes, which is to be expected because of budget and studio pedigree.
I highly doubt the dead trigger runs at 60 fps on your iPhone 4 But if it runs acceptably to you good for you!
So far I've been having fun with it. I do realize that this thread will follow the usual pattern (awesome/can't wait!->bugs/glitches/problems-> complaints/I hate gameloft), but for me I haven't had much of a problem with the animations or anything really. the city is fun to explore and the fighting system, while pretty shallow, is actually pretty entertaining. Part of the fun is the ability to mix it up. While in spiderman you always entered combat in the same way, you have options here. you can stealth kill, grapnel enemies, hit them with batarangs, glide in to knock down all the enemies in a group, or jump down from a building to instakill an enemy. During combat, the punches are pretty much just a button mash, even though the animations are pretty cool. But the strategy is more about avoidance and maneuvering. You can counter an incoming attack with a counter button, holding the jump button will allow you to jump over an enemy to attack from behind (this one is also useful to get away from a mob of enemies closing in) and you can tap the jump button to dodge enemy fire when they're aiming at you. I only really have 2 problems here: 1: the camera sucks. Really hard to see what's going on sometimes, especially in tight spaces 2: consumable IAP. If there was an option to buy something that would automatically replenish batarangs over time, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I even bought the XP and gold amplifier to fight this issue. but forcing us to buy batarangs and all the other gadgets is just unfair. While I normally would want to explore all the options the game offers as far as combat, this will definitely keep me from doing so. Still, I'm having fun with it. If you're on the fence, watch some gameplay videos, and decide for yourself.
That's cool, man! I live in The Los Angeles area and remember in 1984 when the olympics was here I followed the torch in the parade for miles on my little motorcycle. Gave me a good feeling of patriotism for the country! Do it! You'll never forget doing that! Have fun! As for the game, haven't had time to actually play it yet, but it takes forever to load and totals 1.4GB fully installed. P.S. My condolences to the victims and their families in the terrible shooting rampage at that Batman premier. Some crazy bastards in this world...
£4.99 plus IAPs? Ouch! Oh screw it, I really need a new game and this one looks shiny. Downloading...
I'm still at the second mission, but I haven't seen lightning or rain yet. Is that because I'm playing it on an iPhone 4?? I would have installed it on my iPad 2 if I knew there was going to be a difference in actual graphic elements like weather!
I just have to say that this game definitely runs very smoothly on an iPod Touch 3rd gen. I've never experienced at FPS drops. The game obviously doesn't look as well graphically as on an iPhone 4+, but it looks alright still!
It runs pretty damn close to 60 fps on the iPhone 4.(Dead Trigger) I'm waiting for game impressions once the novelty and excitement factor wear off for The Dark Knight Rises game... Let's see how the game really plays out. Looks like a re-skin of the previous two gameloft Spiderman games with slightly better production values.
I deleted game already. It's just not my cup of tea. I like games that require some kill. Camera really is awkward, combat is button mashing at its finest with incredidibly stupid AI. Don't get me wrong, graphics are great and they really nailed the atmosphere but as far as a challenging game, I just can't that into it. I hope this helped some people.
I would think your right, can anyone with iphone 4 confirm this? If this is true then I am not going to bother downloading.
First impressions... Framerate is atrocious (iPhone 4S). Camera is terrible. Gameplay looks like it would be fun but for the two issues above. I'll restart my phone and see if that helps.
Wow, must be nice to dish out $7 then just delete it very shorly after getting it because its not your cup of tea. Give me the money to buy more $7 cups of tea! I can see immediately deleting a free game or a 99 cent game because it wasn't quite what you thought it would be (not much financial risk involved). Hopefully more people will do a bit more research before buying and flippantly deleting $7 games.
