Unfortunately, the game is still not on the App Store. But the app reappeared in my icloud purchase history!!! I just saved a copy on my computer just in case it disappears again.
Have any adventurous souls tried this on an iPhone SE running iOS 14? BoI is a staple for me, and it’s clear that Nicalis abandoned the platform following it’s release. For those interested: Darkest Dungeon isn’t working on iPadOS 14.

Definitely back. Nice to see Nicalis finally remembered to pay their fees yet another year and it's equally nice to know this is the exact same version of Isaac that launched 4 years ago with no updates, none of the new conte--you know what? Nevermind. EDIT: Oh man, read my previous posts in this thread and it's so frustrating feeling the way I do now. :/

Did some research and remembering, and yeah...with Ed McMillen severing ties with Nicalis, we really shouldn't expect anything new to hit Isaac ever as long as they maintain control of the game. The most we can expect is the game disappearing and reappearing from here on out. Also, why is it that Bum-Bo is on Google Play but there's been nothing about it coming to iOS?
I honestly wonder if dealing with apples App Store BS the first time Ed tried to put Isaac on iOS left a sour taste in his mouth and scared him away from trying to put titles on iOS? Idk... sucks to see all these awesome rogue likes we are getting but the king is still neglected. I’d kill for just a little bit of the DLC for Rebirth. Probably a pipe dream unless someone like Playdigious decided to try and port it.
Ed has been an App Store / iOS skeptic since way before Isaac. Frankly, I’m not sure why Nicalis ended up porting it in the first place.
Its a shame really, BoI is such a perfect fit for mobile. Hell, I never beat Mega Satan on PC, but I did on iOS with touch controls. I mean, we've gotten some of THE BEST roguelikes money can buy on mobile (missing Risk of Rain, Spelunky, Neon Abyss, Cryptark...if ANY of those came to mobile, id die happy) but got saddled with a completely neglected port of Vanilla rebirth. DONT GET ME WRONG, I STILL have a full page of unlock to go through, but being left out of the fun of the other DLC is leaving me a bit salty....hell, im I know im in this thread elsewhere crying about not getting more BoI goodness. Bum bo is coming to iOS, I saw a tweet about it a while ago. They specifically said it would be after android. I’m half wondering if this reappearance of iOS on the App Store has anything to do with that. Like a making good of dues.
Since metal said “but there’s been nothing about it coming to iOS”. I am saying that it is. That’s all I got. The making good thing is just a broad idea/thought I had since bum bo is part of the BoI world. But now that I think so more, maybe Nicalis as publisher of BoI on iOS see some opportunity for sales around the release of Bum Bo to iOS.
