I honestly can't believe people are complaining about the size of this game. That's like complaining because you have too much money or ( insert appropriate bards tale type sexist comment here)...
I was really excited about this title as i missed it back in 2004 when it came out.Must say i'm loving it so far and my only gripe is that its not retina supported. For memory issues,i knew december was coming(duh!) ,so about 2 weeks ago i cleared my iphone 4 16gb from everything that i didn't use more than once a week and that gave me 7.2 gb of free space.More than enough to get me trough the holidays.Cheers!
I think it's a great port and think it would be great if more ports like this get done! I'd love to see Baldurs Gate for iOS! I am playing on an iPad 2 with battery savings off and it looks great. Not sure what the thinking was on the opening movie. Artistic retro homage to the original Bard's Tale perhaps? I think it was the initial joke in the game but it can give a bad first impression. Anyway, glad to buy at release to show my support for these kinds of ports! -Greg
For anyone who has ever complained about a lack of quality games on the iOS and those who said they would pay a premium price for a premium game, time to pony up and support this port.
For me its simple : This game feels like an xbox360 quality hack'n'slash, dungeon hunter 1 and 2 feel like 2 yr old iphone games. Its the spit and polish that makes this game the better and dungeon hunter 3 has a bit of a hill to climb if it is to match this title.
This. Like I promised last night, here is my quick impressions. First I downloaded it in to my iPod touch 3rd gen 32 gb on iOS 4.0. It took about 10 minutes to finish downloading and installing. I rebooted my device and launched the game. @the first intro, it crashed. Lucky for me I have an iPhone 3GS ios 5.01,but deleted a lot of stuff to make room for it. Since I already bought it, I just installed it. It worked like a charm. For people with ios 4.0, beware Off to the game. The first 10 minutes of gameplay that Sanuku iploaded is very remineset and even more interesting and fun actually playing it. So far I am a little bit anoyed by the text. It's a little bit hard to read on my iPhone's small screen. I guess it's part of the game to make it look old and medieval lol controls are smooth and responsive. Voice acting and gameplay is the best I have see on the iPhone so far. I am on the very early stages of the game, so we will see how it goes. I am on the second quest/next day that I have to go to the forest and find banana, but can't seem to find it. Anyone who did this level, please chime in
Yeah same here, my achievements don't show on GC, but they show on opeinfent. Hope we see a fix soon.
Ahhh, I love this game but after IB2, I'm so f'n tired of bugs. I just downloaded Desert Zombie Last Stand, there better not be any bugs! If you want to see my impression/description of The Bard's Tale click on the link in my signature and go to the 11/30 link! It's pretty long and has pictures to accompany it. Also, did impressions for other games.
Dungeon Hunter 1 and 2 feel like empty husks of games because they are straight clones of better games. I got them both when I first got my iPad because I was craving Diablo-esque action, and there are MUCH better options than these on the app store.
Another +1 for this. One of my biggest gripes. I had a few other games I want to go through first (almost done with BackStab, then Ayden and Dark Meadow), then I'll pony up and get this. Probably just in time for them to have a Xmas sale a few days AFTER I buy it!
I pretty much wish all big games supported iCloud. And yeah, I wish that the games would stay full price until at least January, but I'm probably dreamin'.
How fast does this drain battery? On a Ipod Touch 4 would you get like an hour or 30 minutes out of it?
Ouch. On IB2 I'm getting at least an hour before the 20% warning pops up. Gangstar rio I get about 1.5 hours. Most other games the battery lasts alot longer.
Lucky! It's probably about that time for me to try and refresh my battery. I just have to find the instructions. I'm lucky to get 45 minutes. I guess I'm just wearing down the cycles at a very fast rate. Beta testing a ton of games, playing as many games as I can for the impression thread, plus all my own personal stuff I do (personal gaming, music, streaming, constant emails, etc.). It's ipod non-stop whether I'm at home or not. If I can get a wifi connection (which I usually can) which I usually can, I will be doing something on it for the most part. Edit Duh, battery overheating. I use it while it's charging a lot.
I forgot iOS 5.0.1 didn't fix battery performance problems for everyone. the said they are working on a fix for 5.1. Like I said I'm lucky to get 45 minutes of gameplay. Also, my battery fills up in about 10-15 minutes; that's not right! Good hear people are getting over an hour on new games!
