Actually, most apps work on my ipod, maybe because it's 32 gb. Shadowgun lagged so bad I couldn't play it, besides that I can't download ravensword 2 or any game specced for 5th gen Other than that I can get just about any game I want.
Ah. So you're basically limited to games that came out the early half of last year. Still pretty good, for a 3rd gen!
Pretty much. Although quite a few of the recent releases run on my ipod (i.e. Heroes and Castles) I think it runs every game the ipod 4 does.
Half the time it's really laggy, like the enemies freeze. Other than that it's good besides the semi-rare random disconnect like 5-10 mins in.
I don't know any other interesting iOS multiplayer games at the moment. So I guess we will have to wait and see what Freyr comes up with next. Maybe another studio will come up with something nice as well. Planetside2 sounds interesting, and I read some really great stories from people playing the first one. Unfortunately it seems to be a real timesink, which takes it off my list more or less immediately.
If you want more guns, then yes, they are expensive, but the default guns are the most balanced and if you're just jumping on for an hour or two at a time for fun, you can really have fun with it. The real fun starts when you find a squad linked to a platoon, and everyone is assaulting the same basic area. It gets very tactical, and working in tangent with an entire army is extremely enjoyable. Of course, you could also just run around the world and explore. The devs really put some time into the environment, and it's really beautiful.
Looks like it is worth a shot. From the rather short and uninformative Appstore description I take it this is PvP only, no PvE? Or do I read that wrong? Does anyone have experience with it? Most importantly, any idea if you hit a paywall sooner or later, or if you can just play without IAP (something I really liked about StarWarfare, you really did not need the IAP) ?
iOS 6.x Wifi problems? Thought I'd ask again about this: Does anyone of you have problems with their Wifi connection on iOS 6.x ? If everything works fine for you, which device and iOS version do you use? My girlfriend got an iPhone5, and she has the same connection problems my iPad2 has. Funny enough, our old iPod3 that still runs on iOS 4.x has no problems at all: With the iPod I get a 3-bar connection immediately in places where my iPad2 thinks for 2-3 minutes and then fails to connect to my WLAN.
I haven't played it a ton, but from what I have seen: There is pve, but it's basically pvp with computers controlling the enemies instead other players. It's a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena game (MOBA) and there are a bunch of Heroes you can play as. You have to buy one with emblems to play them anytime( which you earn in game, though not very quickly), and there are like 5 free heroes every week. There is IAP, and I'm pretty sure you can't earn it for free, but there's no pay wall as far as I can see.
From what I've seen, IAP isn't needed or limiting hardly at all, it would be helpful, but hardly necessary. Just download it and try it out, it's free, so you've got nothing to lose!
