Ravenmark Mercenaries Betatesting Hi folks, time to bring some life back in here, with some news that might interest you: Yesterday, I signed up for betatesting Ravenmark:Mercenaries, the sequel to the awesome Ravenmark, from the same team. If any of you are interested, let me know; or post it directly in the R:M thread here on TA, send the devs a PM here, or join their forum and state in the application that you want to join testing, too. For anyone who does not know it: Ravenmark is by far the best (fantasy) turnbased strategy games out there, and sits in my Hall of Fame right below Planescape on a rocksolid 2nd place. Great story, immense background, good and challenging gameplay, helpful and active developers.
Hmmm yesterday I was playing star warfare again (I know, right?) and I thought that is was kind of fun! It would be really great if we could do organized matches again. Nostalgia (however you spell it.) is haunting me now.
I uninstalled it a while ago, and don't have the space to install anything right now. I agree, we need to find another game we can all enjoy. So, what are everyone's requirements?
Well at the moment I still have a 3rd gen iPod, though I'm close to enough money for an upgrade( I'm eying the 5th gen iPod after seeing the iPhone plan costs) Oh and I still have Star Warfare. Ok so how about everyone lists there favorite multiplayer games and maybe we'll find one or two that we all enjoy. Hmm -- a friend convinced me to give NOVA 3 a shot, and I've found that it's actually not as bad as I thought provided I'm not in a sniper/camper fest. Guess you guys could downgrade it from "undead can't play FPS" to "undead just isn't SKILLED at FPS (but is willing to give it a shot) I might be a little more scarce on the gaming end for now, things are a little busier on my end. Though that being said, though this is loooong delayed, Acheron Prime is sitting on my device and waiting to be played... ---- Speaking of Star Warfare, JediKnight...there's a community out there in the middle of a tournament. Surprisingly enough, the game is still surviving in some circles, though the issues vary depending on what game modes people are into (I'm surprised you "found it kind of fun", and didn't complain about the rampant amount of "combos" that are now floating around in PvP).
I don't like the balance in NOVA 3, as if just seems like rocket launcher+jetpack=instawin. Not that I'm unwilling to give if another go, that is. And don't worry undead, we won't force you to play Counter Strike (yet ).
Yeah. The balance is terrible. And I heard the weapon prices were doubled so that's why it took so long to get the rocket launcher and sniper rifle.
