What? Do you realize that the ONLY people who will enjoy playing this game offline will be the pirates? Have you forgotten who your fans are? Please read this below, I don't have time to type this all.
Thanks again Ryan for attempting to communicate player concerns and obtain clarification from the game developers. It's unfortunate you are the recipient of some internet vitriol regarding the publisher's choice to implement a requirement that is (at least 'round these parts) going to be a deterrent to sales. I guess, perhaps, that's part of the job. Since the game is launching this week it certainly does not seem reasonable that anything will change with the game in the short term, but I'm still cautiously optimistic that things might get straightened out in a future update. Perhaps I'll just keep re-playing old missions on the previous ASM and Dark Knight Rises.
Yeah, you are probably right, I will just be playing Unpossible to try to beat jcho and others on the leaderboards this week.
i think in case of bad sales if anything changes it'll be the price tag that will drop to ''free'' and they'll keep the permanent connection thing. i dont want to be negative but that looks more like gameloft...plus its seems easier to just change the price than retweaking game mechanics.
Also, Internet connection takes up a large amound of battery, especially on an older device like mine. I never play a game with Internet on unless I'm just playing for a sec
Is it possible for the developers to change the "wifi only" aspect in future updates, or is it set in stone?
I grabbed at few screenies from iPad 4. Impressions so far: much better draw distance, great looks but a bit wonky camera, it tries to center behind Spider-Man too often for my liking, hopefully something they get fixed before release. Looks overall better than the first sandbox offering. http://www.gamereactor.dk/nyheder/207184/
Looks ugly as hell to me,just comparing it with tasm on my vita ugly poly models, tinbox cars, low poly npc and this is on iPad 4! It will look utter crap on older devices,it looks 2 or 3 gen outdated for the current hardware something that belongs on an iPhone 4 maybe. The res is the only thing that is decent.Bad job gl.
I've read his response and I think TheMerc brings up some great points about the game. Like I've stated before though, and it's the reason I'm looking on getting more information from the Dev team, I don't have a background in development. So, my reasons for online-only are a very high-level overview, there could be other reasons.
Ryan, where is the blog post with the answers to the questions you couldn't answer in the stream? I thought it should have been up on monday.
Felt a lot like the old game. Extravagant jumping around, spin to slow and counter-button for extra attacks.
I couldn't agree with you more. This looks like an awful game. Graphics look dated by 2 years. There's no graphical effects at all, and let's face it, this game has such shallow gameplay that graphics are the Only thing to BE excited about
The very sad thing is that tasm on vita itself looks very poor and these graphics are a lot worse than even that.I can't even think about comparing it to something like assassin's creed on vita, that would be like comparing Elder scrolls 2 to skyrim,it's that bad.
I disagree. I played through tasm on vita and from what I have seen in the screenshots and videos, I prefer the graphics in tasm2 mobile. I think it's because we prefer different graphics styles. Tasm vita has a more realistic look. Tasm2 mobile looks more like a comic book. iOS: Vita:
