My problem is that I still have high expectations for Gameloft since the company has produced many of my favorite games for iOS over the past five years. I really enjoyed the first Amazing Spider-Man game in spite of some issues raised by others. I still play it at least weekly. Ultimate Spider-Man was a blast as well when it was released. I'm just really bumbed that, with the advent of the continuous connectivity requirement, I will be unable to play the game most of the time because wi-fi is not ubiquitous where I live and work. I was excited for the recent Captain America game as well, but I have not purchased it either for the same reason.

I'd say don't fret over this constant connection issue. There's always a work around for it, but yes, a Premium game shouldn't require constant connection, that's just annoying and wrong in more than a few ways

Who cares about constant internet connection, I don't. We are connected all the time anyways to the internet. Yes, I suppose it would be good to have the game running offline for whatever reason.. But no deal breaker for me.

Camping, on a plan, out of a data zone, in wisconsin.
All times where we won't be able to play this game.
So you may not care, be many of us do. Your arrogance is annoying mate.

  5. You responded to my post, don't know if you are asking me or everyone else, but I am with you, lots of times I play one online only game, I lose 200mb of cellular, yeah, it costs $10 for overage fees, so yeah, I am with you, people should be concerned, and yeah, the only ones that are rewarded are the pirates.

Yeah, probably as you say, if a game is always online, it should be freemium, but honestly, find other ways with Apple to discourage piracy.

Well you must play games in the strangest of places, why do people play games when camping :) or other odd places. Best to play in comfort of your place, other peoples places or public hotspots where connection is always available. As for data plans (cellular) you can get free plans. If you're smart you can find deals that give you free mobile data. I get free data for just watching a fee adverts in return, so far banked myself 4GB of mobile 3G data for just watching adverts.

  7. So where do we get all this free stuff you are always talking about?

You seem to always have a lot of info on this, can you please post how we can get cellular for free?

And I will agree with the vast majority here, the few people that just play at home with full wifi always seem not to care, but remember the vast majority of ios gamers are iphone folk with iphones using cellular or ipads with no cellular, playing offline. If you are going to just play at home with wifi on, why not just buy a console?

Great man, you are really awesome.

    Now think about that:

    - not everybody is living in your country,
    - not everybody has data plan,
    - not everybody is using his/hers smartphone like you,

so stop making stupid statements how normal and smart you are.

Sorry I didn't read the entire thread. Did someone say this game always requires an internet connection? Hope not. I love to play games like this when I have to take a long bus ride across the country or when I'm on a road trip.

  10. Boy, you really are missing alot of this conversation. The short answer to keep you looking through pages and pages is, yes.

Sorry for being lazy. Damn, this really sucks! :( I definitely won't buy this game at full price if they are pulling that crap. I don't want to spend an extra $130 on an ipad plus monthly fees just so I can always be connected. I was really looking forward to this. BUT... I might be able to use my phone to tether a connection. I'll wait and see about this game.

Dude.....those are your places where you like to play, your country, your data plan, and your devices (wifi+cellular). Now when you consider the fact that we aren't you, we dont have the same tastes (so you dont have the right to judge the places where people like to play), the same devices (think about ipod freakin' users), and the same data plan as you, i think you can easily see that your arguments are....a bit crappy! Btw is the plane a strange place to play too? And what kind of retarded would track down public hotspots for the purpose of playing his "portable" game on the go?

I'm all caught up now. GL has been pulling other crap on android. If you buy a game directly from game lofts website and you have to restore your phone they will charge you again for the same game. They are really pissing me off!

    Thank you.
The smugness in his post reeks man.
    Seriously.

  15. It's ok, I too don't bother reading more than 3 pages of a thread anymore, so I am clueless too many times nowadays.

Be careful of tethering. Very careful. Your device thinks it is wifi, so it will download stuff in the background big time.

Once I was tethered, my ipad to my iphone, one sitting used up 500 mb!!!!!!!!!!!

What the heck? Crazy, maybe it was autodownloading part of ios 7.1.

And too with always online, companies can probably track your location, so devs will abuse that by possibly spying on where you are at all hours for advertising.

I just saw Electro in a new trailer and I am probably not even going to pay to see the movie. My friend works at a theater and I am not paying to see one of my favorite villains redesigned to look like Doctor Manhattan.
    /end angry nerd rant.

I like that this version seems to have more ground based missions too.
The first one seemed to be mostly in the building tops.

Yeah but like the first one, we'll be fighting crime in the daylight the whole time. No Day/Night cycle. So to me it would just be more missions of the same. But I'm probably not getting it. Stupid constant connection isn't worth the data loss.
