Web mechanics were childishly unrealistic, textures were a joke & reflections were all the same. Not to mention the map size was fairly small, & missions were repetitive tasks
While I kinda agree with you please let not forget that at that time the current iDevices were already outdated by then. Now, almost two Years later Gameloft is probably confronted with the following: a.) Create a Spiderman HD Game that does blow everyone's freaking mind but doesn`t run on any iDevice that is older then a iPhone 4s/iPad 3 or... b.) Create another Spiderman Game that does more or less run on those older iDevices too with a slower Framerate and a Fog that let you see two Streets far while run on newer iDevices with a faster Framerate and without Fog. It honestly doesn`t matter what Gameloft will do since you will always see someone not happy with the result and you can`t make nowadays everyone happy whatever you do or try to archive as a Developer/Publisher.
Yeah, I've heard from a few other players about this. I've mentioned it to my internal contacts but haven't heard anything back on this, sadly.
I just started the first TASM in anticipation of this one and the movie, and I can see how TDKR was modeled after it quite a bit. I really like this gameplay model of a through story line along with free roam missions and upgradeables. The only thing I want to see that I haven't yet is Spider-man swinging around New York at night. He did a lot of that in the movie and sometimes the rain even fell. Those two things would add a lot to the darker side of this Marvel character. Night time and rain. Do you know if TASM2 will have day/night cycles and weather effects? Or will we be nabbing baddies in broad daylight again?
+1 to this. Imo all the open worlds games must have day/night cycles... It feels a little bit strange when you just free roaming here or there for a lot of time and is always day or night.
The movie comes out next week in the UK and a couple of countries in Europe, so hopefully a coinciding release of the game is in the plans! The only obstacle to that I see is the fact that the US only gets the movie in the first days of May, so Gameloft could decide to hold the game until then. However, I think that's unlikely, seeing how they might lose some serious money in the weeks between the UK and US release...
I wouldn't be buying it. The first game was awful and I didn't even get past many levels and soon deleted it. This looks like they're merely continuing where the first one left off. Gameloft needs to come up with better looking movie tie-in games for Marvel. The graphics are almost always dismal. The Captain America: TWS one looked promising but didn't play well either.
I should be streaming our latest build of the game as a preview tomorrow on Twitch. I'll confirm once I get the build and can test it out
Sorry, I don't have anything new on either of those games right now. All of the info is with the Dev teams and I've gotta wait until they share it with me.
For me, the NOVA series, MC series, Asphalt series, Hero of Sparta, DH2 and Zombie Infection still a lot better than most games on iOS, but yeah, most of their other offerings are pretty much mediocre.
Well, im a huge fan of cover shooters, i just hope the pay model is acceptable. Looking forward to the preview Ryan. EDIT: Er... this was meant for the BIR2 thread. sigh...
