I bought this game a week ago and I started to play this now (I always do that with my game, it's weird), and when I stepped into the shoes of Spidey for the first time in Manhattan, gosh I must say that this game is very remarkable. The Amazing Spideman 2 really is 'amazing' in both visually stunning, and very fun gameplay. You can swing around anywhere and beat up goons, this is very, very fun. Only thing that's letting us down is that bloody full-time internet connection, otherwise this has got to be one of the most astonishing games I've ever played. The frame rate this time has improved greatly (I'm using iPod touch 5g) and the character voice acting has finally improved too. Content-wise there is a fair amount of things like: 1. You can do the campaign 2. You may go around doing side missions 3. You may just roam around Manhattan, web slinging everywhere. I'd give this game an easy 8/10. Gameloft know how to make great and fun games, they know how to keep their customers happy, keep this up Gameloft and hats of to you!
^Gameloft's hit or miss nowadays. The MC series and the NOVA series are their most consistent. Others, they are good, but they always have one or two points i dont like in their games. Generally their games are better than most though...
I know your serious but I wish you were joking. They know how to keep their customers happy?! I don't know about that one. The optional iap prices are completely insane. I could actually buy a real Spider-Man costume for the prices they are asking. And forced online does not make me happy at all.
Just a detail no one mentioned yet; The dialogue is so hackney & cheesy . For example, "Hey officer, I see something SHOCKING has happened here" (as Spidey stands nexts to an electrical generator that has been destroyed).
^agreed. sometimes they surprise me though, like with the last Asphalt. As far as movie tie-ins go, I would say more miss than hit.
For 30$ I can rent a radioactive lab and a spider and get bitten to become the real deal, probably buy a costume with remaning money as well.
That would cost you a few millions, although everyone has that. Even EA knows everyone is filthy rich and can buy a 100 dollar car or 100 dollar worth of IAP to buy car upgrades or a new costume for your character or...
Lol, what? 100 dollars for a car would be a SUPER crappy car. Since, we are all rich I would at least spend 200 dollars on one.
Played in around ten Hours through 80% of the Game and I am currently struggling if I should leave the Rating at 3/5 or change it to 4/5 because I love Spider-Man also some of the Features in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 are making me scrutinize the motives at Gameloft on why they were added the way they are. As far as I go I can say the following about the Game while looking at the whole Package after spending ten Hours with The Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is not the Perfect Game I had hoped it would become since some of the Game Mechanics were clearly taken from other Gameloft Freemium Titles and it`s often more then clear that this was done with the motivation to actually monetize as much as possible in the Game instead of actually trying to improve the overall Game Flow. I will try to put my thoughts down later this week when I will have played through the hole Game since at the current moment it`s really hard for me to see all the good parts of the Game through the among of What could go wrong did go wrong Game Mechanics in the Game which often were clearly designed in a way to generate the most profit out of the Game instead of actually adding something to the Gameplay. Note: Sorry for any typo I have left. I promise I will fix it at a later point.
After playing this for many hours it all comes down to LAG. I should know better and I do about Gameloft games. Which is why I have deleted every Gameloft game I have ever purchased due to lag and unfortunately this is another one I am going to be forced to delete. I regret buying it now because of the LAG. I think it all comes down to their selling pitch which is aimed at gullible eyes. Lag is THE hallmark of just about every Gameloft game. It's no use trying to complain because they don't listen. It's their selling pitch to push the limit of the hardware so people buy then when it comes to gameplay its a huge letdown. I'm using a 128gb iPad Air. They needed to optimise the game not ruin it with lag. You can play but if you've ever played a completely free lag game in your life you can tell the huge difference and just how much lag there is. Unfortunately I have played many very lag free games so it stands out a lot for me and spoils what could have been an excellent game. On top of that is the connection problems but while it lags the game is not enjoyable connection problem or not. 1/10.
Lol this game got a well deserved 2 star review. Wheres "gameloft ryan", he should start taking some notes for the developers. Take off the internet connection, sort the IAP prices to reasonable and sort out the lag. I mean come on, why would you release a game that doesnt even work properly, are you stupid GL. They need to repair this broken game or it looks lyk deyr going to lose a lot of customers. First captain america bullshit and now spiderman bullshit.
The casual scene own mobile devices, not psvitas, so GL are gonna monetize the turd out of the mobile apps rather than the psvita and consoles. Many more people own iPhones than vita and other consoles, so that is where the money is, churn it out of the casual people.
Yes!yes!yes. This is 100 percent correct. Actually I don't remeber playing a laggy game on my ps2 or psp or vita (apart from tasm and sometimes ac)ever infact I wouldn't even think of it while playing them. But GL games always seem ti run below 30fps,Ryan should take notes from this thread and convey the message to devs. A spot on review probably one of the best and most informative ones I've read on this site,I like how he didn't gloss over important details like framerate, iap's,always online etc.
You might want to look beyond one website to determine what influences them or what ratings matter. On Google Play. 2464 reviews. 1514 five star reviews. 398 four star reviews. 194 three star reviews. 116 two star reviews. 242 one star reviews. An average rating of 4.1 On App Store. 1495 reviews. 756 five star reviews. 249 four star reviews. 160 three star reviews. 91 two star reviews. 239 one star reviews. An average rating of 3.8 worldwide. It does even better on the US store with an average rating of 4.0 and 306 five star ratings out of 514 ratings. Dunno, but those look like reasonable enough positive numbers. And as those numbers are from the marketplace they are in, represent a much larger pool of reference and from customers who actually bought the game, they might have a bit more relevance.
Even crappy games on appstore get those kind of numbers,If I was to release a game tomorrow I bet it would get an easy 4+ star rating on google play.Casuals don't care if the game functions properly or not they are sheep people and have played an important part in giving mobile gaming a poor rep,98% games on playstore have that kind of a rating,go check them out if you want. If this was released on a vita or a 3ds I bet it would be panned by the critics so bad that they wouldn't even release another one.Ever.Kind of how asphalt was treated on the psp. Even the most terrible crap like urban crime has 3.5 stars on appstore, just shows the standard of the reviewers. Hell ff:atb has a 4 star rating on appstore.
