Too bad they didn't release it like that. Might be too late for me to jump aboard. Eh, maybe when the DVD releases, I'll check and see if it's hit yet.
so suddenly piracy is a non issue?Or is it that they realised their stupid mistake after all this time finally.Seriously they don't have any integrity,I mean if you are that sure about your game then stick to your guns.Well atleast now it will be playable,Took too long here wonder how long it will take for mc5.Good news for gamers though.
I predict the update will turn this into a cash gouge and they removed the online requirement to facilitate new casual players as the game is reaching the end of it's initial profitability stage. I would love to be wrong.
They removed it like I suspected because of the poor sales in most countries,Not everyone can afford a constant internet connection and people with wifi only ipods and ipads are generally ruled out because of it.Still quite funny how they fail to stick to anything when things aren't working out.I'm sure they'll do the same for mc5 sometime after it's release.Ofcourse they haven't fixed the frame rate I can be assured of that it's been literally months now, typical release and forget it.All PR bs having a community manager and stuff but still haven't fixed their game.
Nose to the ground? I'm thinking time machine, or something superpower related. But seriously, does rip work for Gameloft? How do you get inside information? I'm just praying it's true. Ryan, can you please confirm?
I would not get too excited. The last updates for GT:2 and Asphalt 8 turned two good balanced games into two money gouging games. Once GL games cease earning they change the economy to wring the last ounce of cash out of the remaining whales.
Well, when it went on sale for 0.99 cents, I decided to grab this for free while I could from Feature Points. If the online thing is removed is be glad to GIVE it a try.
Piracy is still an issue. It will alway be an issue. Its a bigger issue when a game launches initially. There is more detail to that one but I'm not going to go into that here. How listening to the requests of people who bought it and those who claimed they would buy it and removing the thing they wanted removed relates to a lack of integrity, I don't really know. The step involves potentially accepting a certain level of piracy in order to please those who have the game already so if that's not doing what your customers want at a cost to themselves, well I guess there is just no pleasing some people. And in saying that, the anti crack protection has advanced on it and is very good anyway and might not even get cracked The same thing is not going to happen with MC5. One reason. Unified progression. Second reason. Multiplayer. Third reason. Time limited events. And more reasons. So don't hold your breath on that one. This game allows for the possibility of offline for the campaign mode, not the arena mode. The same thing does not apply to MC5 due to unified progression primarily but there are more reasons that I'm not going to outline in the wrong thread. I have no information on any of that. I don't know if the in game economy will change or not. I don't see any reason why it will. It's not the type of game that gets constant updates and new content all the time, a "game as a service" type of game if you will, so there's no real reason for it to change economies. In saying that, I simply don't know about that part so I won't rule it out, it's just not the type of game I see it applying to. In the countries that matter, it didn't have bad sales at all. It actually sold extremely well in the five key store. The top ones for downloads are US, China, Japan, UK and Russia. The top ones for revenue are US, Japan, China, UK and Australia. In each of those stores, it was consistently in the top 10 paid downloads section for both the iPad and IPhone charts It is still in the top 100 for some of those markets and in the top 250 for all of them. So, no, you're idea of poor sales doesn't stead up to any kind of analysis whatsoever. It performed extremely well in the key marketplaces. All they've done now so respond to requests from the substantial player base. If you want to see the bad in that, feel free to, there is not much I can do about that, but you're "suspicions" don't stand up to any kind of scrutiny because even one of the top 5 markets on its own is better than all of the other smaller ones combined. Sales were not/are not a problem. Shouldn't it be EAR to the ground?......... Nose to the ground is an image that I'm gonna have great difficulty removing from my brain. It looks (sounds) like it would hurt a lot. No, I don't work for Gameloft, I don't know work for any developer. I'm of the opinion there will be more information coming on when or how it's happening "in the coming day". It is direct info and not from any of the community managers. They have rules they have to follow so they can't just throw that stuff out before the info is ready. Considering how many "opposed" the online only on here, I thought ye might be interested to know it. I don't know if its up on any of their social media or not yet but I'm sure a Facebook page they have for it or one of their Twitter accounts will announce it soon enough.
Money talks if it not were for the sales they wouldn't have made any changes to it,Think of it if they had great sales with AO then why would they remove it?.It's nothing different than xbox one AO where when they were asked whether AO will be removed or not they responded that it's impossible and then they did remove it 4 days after. I would have been pleased if they had it since day one it's their fault that they had that AO thing which detracted many others from the experience,It's a little late but still a move in right direction from GL. If this was a reaction to complaints then they would surely sort out their legacy games, Capt America and most importantly the framerate issues none of them have been resolved so yeah I would assume It's lack of integrity on their part clearly.Changing your policies ever so frequently shows a lack of market analysis and distance with community,I think a read an article where a higher up from GL was questioned about it.His stance on the situation was a very firm one and repeatedly assured that no changes are going to be made in the future it wasn't a long time ago either,Shows the faith they have in their own policies. There's this kinky fake app on appstore that has been there in the top 10 for years now and there are plenty like those in the top 100.Top 250 is nothing to talk about really,it's gl and whatever they'll release will be there since there's no competition here. Anyway they can do no wrong if they have Ao then it's for the sake of piracy and when they remove it's to please gamers right.Right please me now by fixing the framerate Gl which hasn't been fixed months after release.
It's great to hear that Gameloft will indeed go ahead and remove the online requirement! Like Rip said, it really showed that they were willing to listen to their customers, and I believe that's something to be recognized and rewarded. I'll gladly buy the game the day the update is out!
Just to let ye know, just checked and it's up on the Facebook page for the game so it is officially confirmed that removal of always online is happening in the next update. I'll assume it was confirmed on Gameloft twitter accounts as well. There is a caveat that Mysterios arena can only be played online and obviously enough cloud saving requires online but the full campaign can be played offline in the next update. There appears to be a chapter 9 incoming as well.
Hi everyone, Offline Mode was indeed announced yesterday on the game's official Facebook page and in-game via the news section! Plus, the 2nd announcement is that a new suit will be available alongside the new update as well. As you all know, Offline Mode has been a highly requested feature since launch and the team investigated it from all aspects to figure out how to best implement it. As Rip mentioned, the Story Mode will be fully available to play through offline. Certain features like Mysterio's Arena & IAP purchases will need an internet connection, as this plays into the concern for piracy and the commitment to provide a fair competitive gameplay experience (regarding events/leaderboards). The update is working its way through approval/review and should be available soon.
Any chance there will be an option to pull the camera back? When I played it I deleted it the same day just because I couldn't see what I was doing with the camera the way it was.
I know the team is aware of this feedback, but I'm still waiting to hear back about the full finalized list of changes for this update. I'll certainly mention it to the team again though. Just for reference, could you specify what type of device you play on?
Please see if they added a zoomed out camera as I find it to close also. I play on an iPad air and iPhone 5 for reference.
The new suit will be the Future Foundation suit from when Spidey took the place of the Human Torch for a period of time.
