Correct. I've heard from the game team that they will be adding something in-game to make this clearer because without the announcement a lot of people didn't realize that Chapter 8 is still to come with an update.
As I mentioned in my post above, there are some issues that aren't discovered until the game is released on a large scale. That's why we support our games with updates so that we can fix anything we might have missed. Also I think it shows we are invested in this game. We aren't just throwing it out there, taking your money, and running. We think all of the improvements in TASM2 make it a great, story driven game. That's why I ask for feedback and place such a high value on it.
Dude, not everyone is evil that isn't you. These dev.s put care into the work they do and craft the games with hard labor. Playtesting can't account for every last bug in a game. Look at MW2's Javelin glitch. Seriously, you are bad. You call those concerned about the always online poor idiots, you call GL a bunch of scammers. Truth? Here it is: You are a troll. You hate everyone and keep smug about it.
Game Impressions Any chance of fixing the camera so i can see below me without it auto correcting it self ? This part is so frustrating when swinging around the city as i really do not want to be looking at a tilted angle towards the sky all the time. I am not sure if this has been mentioned already in this thread as i know people are angry about a great many things with this game but just a pet peeve of mine that really rubs me the wrong way every time i play it....... Thanks
So i played TASM2 long enough to expose my impressions. -The game is,without doubts, better than the first. -From what I saw, this is gonna be a very long game, there are maybe more than 8 chapters, each one can be completed in 1-2 hours -Gameplay is pretty solid,I'm really enjoying this game guys,I'm dead serious. -Graphics are very good, real time shadows, some dinamic riflections, always remember this is a mobile game. Negative things -Internet connection, even if it is not a problem for me,this should be a mobile game, which means that you should be able to play wherever you want -Camera is too close when walking/running -Frame Rates,I'm playing this on an iPhone 5s,it should be the most powerful device along with the iPad Air at the moment, and I'm still getting 15-20 FPS sometimes. The game should be optimised as soon as you can Gameloft.Glad if you will read this little review.
I wouldn't bother with that one. He already stated acquiring "free" iap in Dead Effect and posted he acquired this game through the "try before you buy" method. The post was removed but I'm sure it probably tells you everything you need to know as to whether or not those posts are worth entertaining.
I completed the boss fight with normal suit and just the standard health bar, no need to buy a suit. Plus if yu had 10,000 plus spider coins you should have just upgraded your health amd attack power or even your defense and you could win easily. I had exactly 299 coins when i did that mission. I to thought iv hit a paywall, but then went on youtube and seen someone do it in 1 go, so i kept trying and completed it in a couple of go's
I decided to up my points to 4 stars. I've only been disconnected once since I've bought the game and played or many hours. The main thing fir me is that lag is there. With lag the game is still very good. Us without lag I imagine excellent. As far as paywalls I've started to come across requirements to have a skill or two but so far nothing dramatic. They should allocate more stars per win or have a double stars IAP. Apart from that its a technological marvel in my book as far as gaming on an ios device is concerned. It's almost if not better than playing on a console. Now someone please HELP............ I'm at a point where I have rescued a policeman from a burning car and he wants to go to hospital. Its a timed mission but I'm having trouble getting there as the hospital is about 1,000 metres away and it only gives you a very short time to get there. I'm not even getting close either running or swinging. Is there any way I can beat this? A skill upgrade? I couldn't find one. And I don't get anymore blue missions as this one keeps repeating so I have to beat it to progress. Any ideas? Thanks.
@Ryan I've been playing this game since last night and the lag is constantly distracting,Everything feels jerky and unreliable and this is on a 5s,My question to you is do GL even do any sort of beta testing or is the worldwide release treated as a beta test,I would really like to know cause if there is one device that this game shouldn't lag on then that is iphone 5s latest phone released just 6 months ago.
Playing through the hole Game with the Standard Suit is a real Challenge and I can understand everyone that does give up at some point and just buy one of those iAP Suits in the Game but I can ensure you that it`s still possible even it`s the most frustrating experience I ever had in any Gameloft Title since Gameloft released their first Mobile Title. Here is how I got past Kraven/Hammerhead with the Standard Suit: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Hope you get soon back on your feet since the upcoming Modern Combat 5 Launch and the E3 will probably make it not easier to find some rest. I just don`t get it why some Game seem to run very differently on the same iDevices. The Game does run as fast as possible on my iPhone 5s/Samsung Galaxy S5. I`m currently playing trough the Game on my iPhone 5s/iPad Air with 7.1.1 with 1.56/10GB GB free Space so it`s really not as empty as it could be and there have been so far less then 5. Times in twelve Hours overall of Gameplay where the Framerate did clearly dropped lower but still was playable. Are you using some Jailbreak or anything similar since if we are both are using the same iDevice and the same Firmware and I am getting even asked by a lot of Folks over on YouTube why my Game does run so fluent on the iPhone 5S/Samsung Galaxy S5 then there is really something wrong with the Game.
You have to press and hold the jump/web throw/web swing button (the non combat single button on bottom right, whatever it's called). Holding it for a longer period increase the swing arc which gives an increase in speed. Don't let the button go until Spidey's body is horizontal and parallel to the ground. It gives him a jump off at the end of the swing arc which has an almost catapulting type of effect that also increase his speed. Also do not re engage the swing until he has done that little body jump off motion at the end of the web swing. In doing so you also will climb higher so when you reach the marker for the hospital, free fall down which will increase speed. No webs at that point. Also no contact with buildings, it will slow you down whether you're in a swing or not or when free falling at the end. There are no skill tree items as such that help it but there are a good few that increase the strength of the web which might help out if you are finding you are dropping out of the swing with the passenger on your back. The third last one on the tree for web strength might be the most useful one there but I'm not sure on that one. Other than that, if its the mission I'm thinking of, from Central Park to the hospital at the other end, long swings with a wide arc to get the jump off at the end of it are all that I can think of. Allow Spidey to go through a slight jumping motion, at the end of the swing arc when you release the button, before pressing and holding the button again. Rinse and repeat.
My 5s is on 7.0.4 has 2gb free space,Apart from that I have reinstalled the game already and I rebbot every time I play l.The framerate is consistently below 30 sometimes it jumps to 35-40 even for a little moment but most of the time it's jerky and unstable,Not jailbroken yet. And that video pretty much proves how terrible the framerate is,the fist 6 minutes of it run smoothly during the skyscraper fight since there are no cars or npc's being rendered during the whole fight, from 7 minutes onwards is what the whole problem is about as sson as the gun guy joins in the framerate crawls and then when the boss fight ends and the game again renders cars and npcs the framerate becomes unplayable again, pretty similar to my device,Not sure how anyone can call that fluent, probably they didn't watch the whole thing...or didn't watch it in high quality. And people saying that the cars have improved, look at those models they look exactly the same as the first game terrible ps1 quality...the psp version has FAR better models that those, and it doesn't even render more than 2 cars or npc's most of the time either.
I guess many people have a different opinion about "smooth" or "lag". So, if someone thinks a 20fps is smooth then he is about to say "mine is running fine, no lags, etc." whereas in reality it lags. And that is the part which confuses people. If you played games on a pc for many years, setting up every game with fraps to monitor the fps and to get a smooth experience then you will get much more precise to estimate what is smooth and what isn't smooth. TASM2 is playable but the framerate is consistently dropping below 25. At least it should be obvious if you're about to drag the camera and there is a one second delay before the camera is moving. (Something like that, hard to explain)
30fps is the industry standard,It's been tested and tried technically and is ideal framerate for playing games,Anything lower than that gives rise to input lag which seriously affects gameplay.Tasm 2 has a poor framerate on my 5s which ranges from 15-30fps,terrible for gaming.Considering the poor graphics combined with the fact that the 5s is almost 27 times as powerful as the iphone4,it's simply unacceptable from GL.
30 fps is passable for a mobile game, but outside of my phone or ipad, 30 is far from an acceptable standard. How do people settle for 30 fps? I drop at all noticeably below 60 for any length of time and I'm either adjusting graphics settings or looking for another game.
Any paricular reason why you haven't updated your 5s to 7.1? My Air is running 7.1 with only 666mb space left and it runs at decent framerate definitely higher than 25fps which drops significantly around the central park area. So updating might just be the only solution available for you. But then the phone is your brother's right?
Both my brother and I have a 5s,He purchased the game and I played a little.on his device, then I installed the game on my 5s since he had to go for work,I don't which version his phone was running on but it was just as poor on my device. The framerate drops all the time it's definitely under 30fps and in the laggy territory it's there when swinging across the city and crawls in the park area. I'm on a limited bandwidth so updating is not really an option,It doesn't make any difference anyway.Checkout the above video there's lag from around 7 minute onwards, his device is running ios7.1.
