Can you blame him for not posting here? I'm not sure it's possible for you guys to create a more hostile environment for developers to participate in any kind of discussion.
Not really I doubt there's been any display of hostility in the forums given the terrible tactics gl have adopted, the post you mentioned just points out all the valid criticisms of the game imo.He shouldn't be expecting and flowers and sunshine from the community all the time taking criticism s is a part of EVERY job in this world and this thread is Nothing.
Don't need to go and check them out. Havng the ability to quote the numbers I did already should be a clear indicator that I have that ability already. Obviously enough I would have thought. And as this is not the Vita or 3ds, a completely different platform with a completely different focus and purpose for the vast majority of its marketplace, making that comparison is about as relevant as comparing a Ferrari 458 to a Golf GTi, ie of no relevance whatsoever. And I'm sure the Vita Spider-Man game is showing up on Amazon at the moment at $40 so that's an 8 fold price differential that makes the comparison to that game or platform even more irrelevant. Context tends to be important a lot of the time. Edit. I must also thank Eli for his post. Developer interaction has always been the key element of this forum. And while negativity is inevitable and acceptable, the level of hostility is not doing anybody any favours. People might want to consider that if they do want continued developer interaction of any kind as the desire to interact here is definitely diminishing strongly among developers due to the hostility demonstrated. A point will come where it will just simply stop. And that point is not too far away.
I know what your saying, it's not like we're mad at him. He seems like a really great guy that's just trying his best to relay the feedback to the dev team. I'm sure he didn't make any of the decisions. A bunch of us are really big Spider-Man fans, I for one am a huge one, and I really want a good Spider-Man game. I'm only criticizing because I care. Not just to bash for the heck of it.
I must add even if it was 5$ it would still get terrible reviews,A bad game will get bad reviews no matter how 'cheap' it is.Also reading the whole post and not trying to be a smartass is also very important skill of communication.Good job just taking pieces out of the whole thing and giving it a new spin altogether you should work at fox news they need more people like you. Also Asphalt injection(ps vita) price - 30$,metacritic- critics -49,user-4.2.
You need constant internet connection to play this? This is one of the lamest thing that i saw in a action game such as the legendary spiderman... Really disgusting, i mean wtf for? To keep hackers out!? Well screw hackers, i'm a gamer and playing it while keeping internet connection on heats my iPhone up and drains a lot of battery life! Yeah screw you Gameloft, i hate you!
I simply ignored your "casual" and "sheep people" statements. I didn't think the insulting parts were worth commenting on.
Ewwwww some political commentary. Good burn about Fox News. Btw, I am not praising any negativity toward rip. It is not my intention.
You simply ignored the ff:atb and urban crime parts too,I rest my case. Since when is being a casual gamer an 'insulting' thing,I apologize if you feel that way but let me assure you it wasn't aimed at anyone on this website and certainly not 'you'. I think sheep people is quite the appropriate description on most of mobile gamers,The tendency to just jump on every new game and blindly giving it 5 stars approves of that behaviour, The ratings of the above mentioned games surely serves my point well.
Agreed. Despite our different points of view, there's no reason for these arguments to get too out of hand. Ryan deserves the credit and recognition for being a very active presence on Gameloft's behalf on these boards. Not only does he address us, but he has frequently brought bugs, suggestions and the like to the attention of whatever devs are working on any given Gameloft game, and so far he seems to be doing a great job at bridging the gap between us and the company. So kudos to Ryan, and thank you for bringing our concerns regarding this game as well as others to the attention of the teams! (Here's hoping that the internet requirement will be reconsidered!) In this particular case, we're discussing a game made by a company that has a representative here in the forums, but even when that's not the case, there's seldom any reason to discuss our experiences with these games in an emotional and disrespectful fashion. Not only will that likely have no effect on the game's quality or lead to any changes, that will only serve to give mobile gamers as a whole a negative, childish image...
Regardless of other issues, the framerate is just plain bad. Sub 30 while swinging around the city, and that's unacceptable. Rebooted, closed all apps, etc and it's still running poorly. iPad 4 here, and I hear it isn't any better on A7 devices. Maybe something to do with the always online requirement? Just a guess, it does seem awfully crash prone and a tad laggy in menus while it checks with the server.
I have a feeling this will go down in mobile history as the line between online requirements on all games whatsoever(mobile)and if they benefit anyone. As tentions increase ad other developers consider the same requirement, the hate on companies and other people increases. My overall view of the whole thing is How much companies really care about the feelings of their customers and it's gonna forever change the future of mobile gaming. I really don't know at this point who has the price to pay for this, but I do know It's now in Gameloft's hands...
Arguments in favour of always on connections remind me of arguments against internet anonymity (if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear). This principle is absolute BS and I for one shall never support an always on internet connection game - and I will down vote (even though I have always on internet) It is my right to refuse to be dependency enslaved. A lot of you out there think this always on connection question is no big deal - but I assure you that it is.
Once, all new ios devices have the fingerprint reader, your fingerprint will be associated to you Apple ID. Then, when you play games, the game will stop every 5 minutes and you will have to confirm you are the person who bought the game by scanning your fingerprint to continue playing it.
And that person won't be me - if people are dumb enough to do that well good luck to them. By the way - the fingerprint scanning will be 'integrated' into the game in a 'fun' way so it will be just like an extra 'action' button...
I have to say that the quality of discussion in this forum has really gone way down lately. In complete agreement with Eli. Haters gonna hate, some of them are in complete denial even. I'll wait and see if anyone from GL is going to pop in and comment. Not going to participate in the interim with all this condescending and tactless posts. All that can be said is re-read your comment before you post them and make sure to be as civil as possible.
Just a word from the wise, wait to purchase this game; much like the Asphalt series, this Game will be free in the coming months, so save the $5 dollars.
