From the faq on their website (www.trilobytegames.com): "We are supporting iOS 3.0 and up on the iPhone 3GS and 4, and the 3rd and 4th generation iPod Touches. Older hardware is not supported." Though... from the same faq: "Q: When I try to play The 7th Guest on my iPhone, the screen goes white. A: This is a bug particular to iPhone 3G. We are working on a fix. " So basically it sounds like they don't have plans to support older hardware... but on the other hand they say they're working on a "fix" for the iPhone 3G, which seems to imply 2nd gen touch and 3G will be supported. Who knows, but if you're on older hardware, I'd hold off until you know it works for certain.
Well, good news bebo_beta2002. From their facebook page: "Good news. We've got a fix for iPhone 3G and 2nd Generation iPod Touch. It will still require 4.2 OS. Working on expediting this update to Apple." So it looks like a fix will be coming, just a matter of when.
Version 7.1 now live. Animations have been slowed down and music now loops properly, effectively fixing every issue I had with the game. Apparently support for older devices (2nd gen iPod, iPhone 3G) has now been added as well. And all in under a week from initial release. Nice work Trilobyte.

I finally had time to play around with the iPhone port. Really great work guys, i hope you port "The 11th Hour" soon and plan to re-release both games on the Mac App Store containing all the puzzles. That would be frickin AWESOME, if i may say so.
Ditto. Been waffling on getting it. Found an iTunes card I'd forgotten about, and was going to get this when I saw the $0.99 notice. By the time I saw that, opened iTunes, and searched, it was back to $2.99. May still grab it, but was going for maximum return on the gift card, so still pondering.
That sale was fast. I too wanted to pick it up but didn't get to it in time. Frustrating but hopefully the sale will return soon.
It may be the first time I'm too slow to press the buy button. :/ A few hours to decide whether I prefer to play the 7th guest on my ipod or on my ipad and it's already too late.
