It's the 4th of July! Talk about fireworks and stuff along those lines. In the meantime, I have a few questions for you: 1. What fireworks did you get? 2. How much did you spend? 3. What are your favorite fireworks?
It is the United States Independence Day. People celebrate with bar-be-ques and watching fireworks. Fireworks are illegal in many states though for individuals to buy. So there are big celebrations like in Boston with the Boston Pops playing a cool outdoor concert and then at the end is a huge fireworks celebration. The TV even televises some of these celebrations.
Fireworks illegal in my state too. Only problem is we have lots of the Reservations...(Native American type) that sell very illegal fireworks sorta cheap. So everyone goes there and buys them and shoots them off anyway. Nothing can be done about it.
It's also known as the worst day of the year for dogs lol! (least mine since they get spooked by all the fireworks!)
I have a friend who lives in Sweden who wrote this on her Facebook page yesterday. I thought it was hilarious (this was after the World Cup, BTW): ~neighbours are having a party on the roof. Lots of singing. Lots of not doing it very well. Lots of that sounding like random drunken shouts. Good times. ~Now they are singing "Born in the USA". Very loudly and with passion. And they are all Swedes and Germans. ~Hmm, maybe they're celebrating 4th of July? See, everybody gets involved.
