In the states there's hardly any hype going on. For example: I'm not even sure which qualifying round they're on and what teams are left. Is there a website that I can check or preferably an app?

I was thinking of starting a World Cup thread myself. Spain vs Holland was incredible. First time 2 teams have played each other in consecutive World Cup matches? Must be.

Funny thing is, my money was on Holland to win World Cup 2010 and they lost in the final... to Spain. Not saying they'll go all the way, but their odds have more than halved after that result.

    Come on England!

Just check any football website. Espn and other US sports sites will cover it. Then again if your talking qualifying round I don't think you should worry so much as I don't think you understand it !

If you guys win the World Cup, we (Scotland) will be pushing for independence before September.
Last night's match was a beauty. Van Persie and Robben were stunning.
Good luck tonight, though. I always try and get behind you but I have Italy in the sweep at work.

Cheers mate. I don't mind if we lose, just as long as they give it a good go. Probably be a tight match though.

Uruguay 1-3 Costa Rica. Did not see that coming at half-time.

England lost but I'm glad we actually had a go. They created loads of chances, just couldn't put them away. Sterling was great. Bring on Uruguay! :)

Thanks for that. Remember one day when your team loses and someone says something stupid like that

Anyway back to the game. Bad miss by Rooney. Gets that and we're all happy about how the young squad are doing. Lots of chances but couldn't finish. Huge game on Thursday

Drogba, what a legend. Immediate impact once he came on.

Actually couldn't believe how many England players I didn't recognise. Very, very nice to see such a young team. I don't mind you doing well at all - just don't win the thing. Italy can turn any football match into a game of chess. The Costa Rica game was an unexpected belter too.

Okay, first I don't have a team as I'm not a football fan, secondly I'm English and I've lived here all my life but I get so sick of the total media frenzy during a World Cup that I'm happy when we finally lose and they all shut the heck up. ;)

Even the flipping adverts are 80% football based atm! it drives me spare.

Australia/Spain, Netherlands/Chile, Cameroon/Brazil and Croatia/Mexico. Need to stock up on Red Bull tonight.

The US is not a hotbed for soccer/football viewing, but I've got to admit that the US games have been pretty exciting. I'm not to the point where I can watch other teams play and get into it. Maybe some day. Thinking about being "sick" on Thursday….

Maybe Mene should move to the US. It's not quite a frenzy here. :)

I just saw Suarez bite someone again. Man, he is a great footballer but he's as mad as a brush.

Got to agree with Slam. As a player he is different class but I've no idea what goes through his head at times.

As a Liverpool supporter I've given him the benefit of the doubt in the past but this is too much. All of the brilliant things he did last season undone in a moment of madness.
