With the 2010-2011 NBA Season in full swing, let's get this thread started! The Nets won their first game, couldn't be more psyched... (T-Mac scored 0... haha) The Heat evened up their record with Wade leading the team to a win. The Cavs didn't need Lebron to get a W... who knew ;o J-Kidd... 18 assists, monster!! The Lakers continue their dominance... <feel free to add in your own highlights>
Knicks fan here, so I don't have too many expectations this year.. lol zzz Next year, maybe we get Anthony. Glad the Celtics whooped Miami last night though. Lakers look good again too.
Warriors won their opening game at home against the Rockets! Super stoked! Monta scored 46, Curry got around 25 or so Not NBA but the Sharks beat the Devils at home too... But best of all the SF Giants win game 1 of the WS at home!!!!!!!! Great day for Bay Area sports!!!! Couldn't be happier
Predictions: 1. Lakers for three peat! 2. Lakers vs. Boston Finals. 3. Kevin Durant for MVP. 4. Heat vs. Cleveland. Cleveland wins by one point, at the buzzer. 5. Clippers making the playoffs! 50+ wins. 6. Carmelo Anthony for Lamar Odom, Shannon Brown, Luke Walton, and two first round draft picks Highly unlikely..
lolololol Heat what a joke. Lebron James, 9 turnovers, what a joke. David Stern giving more power to the refs, what a joke.
Lakers all day The Heat burn out, Lebron leaves NBA for a rap career, Wade retires. Anyone know how Blake Griffen looked so far?
Didn't feel like starting another thread, but um, Jeremy Lin? Anyone think he can keep the hype going?
No, Melo is an offense killer. He is what NBAers refer to as a volume shooter. He is a one-on-one isolation player who needs the ball to be effective. The offense becomes stagnant and lazy and ball movement ceases as Melo tries over and over again to break his defender down on some clear out play. Much like Allen Iverson back in the day, there is a reason why teams get better when Carmelo is not around. He is a selfish, individual player who does nothing to make his teammates better and will suck the life out of the Knicks once he returns from injury. In short, Lin is not going to get the ball anymore once stoudemire and Melo return. Plus, those dudes don't play a lick of defense. On a side note though, Miami, Chicago, Indiana, Boston, Orlando, New York, Philadelphia in the East. One of those teams would have to beat three of those teams back-to-back-to-back, and then beat Oklahoma City in the finals, with OKC likely having home court advantage. Not going to happen. You can pretty much take the Thunder and crown their asses now.
No, because the Knicks have someone named Melo, a hilariously overrated "superstar" who has guaranteed that the Knicks won't win a championship any time soon unless he somehow manages to become a team player. Otherwise, the Knicks have a pretty good team. I love Fields, Shumpert, and Chandler complementing Lin/Amare. Perfect fit.
i honestly don't like melo and amare one bit... look at how the knicks are playing well as a team recently, especially lin's selfless performance. When those two come back in, all the teammates'll do is pass the ball to them, while Lin tries to share the bal with everyone. Right now, i just love how Lin has the chemistry with chandler. Their chinese-style bowing made me lol
Amare is actually a great team player. It's Melo that's the problem. Once the ball touches his hands, you will never see it again.
Melo likes to call his own play. I hear his favorite play is the "give & go." Otherwise known as: "Give me the ball and go to Hell." Amare and Melo don't play any defense. At all. Zero defense. Amare is a better team player, but his effort on defense is pathetic.
