I agree with this. The PSP really doesn't get the credit it deserves. It is a wonderful system, with it's flaws of course. It doesn't have the largest selection of games, but it has some of the best hand-held games to date. And like you mentioned before, PS1 games ftw! hahahaha The commercial is stupid though.
Throwing pokes at your competition in advertising has been done for god knows how long, but even then this ad campaign is pretty stupid. If they just promoted their own product more, they'd stand in better stead. This just looks desperate.
Sony needs new goddamn hardware. We gamers have our rational moments when we pensively consider many reviews when we're about to buy a game, but most of the time, we're just drooling over a feature or spec list. If Sony were to release a brand new handheld console, a true follow-up to the PSP, and did it right, then people and developers alike would start showing interest. Problem is, that probably costs money they don't have.
I have learned one thing from these ads. Sony knows how to make a good ad campaign. And make it funny at the same time. KB FTW!
Now the KB commercials are funny. I really like them they actually make me laugh. The ones with this kid just bother me. lol
Exactly, but as a PSP consumer, and a person that actually perchases the games, I just shrug the commercial off. To the average person (especially Apple kiddos) this just seems desperate.
Yup, not like the KB commercials, which make fun of the other consoles in a good way. If you've seen KB from the future you know what I mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0puP8nrIU8
I don't think anyone is denying that -- I certainly don't. And Sony is doing a few things right with the platform, like having a really decent Summer Sale on PSN and keeping up with the PS1 Classic titles. But this is as dumb a marketing move as they come. Sony could have changed the game if at E3 they'd announced a $100 price drop on the PSP-Go, or even the same free-PSN-games offer they did in Europe. Instead, they debuted this tone-deaf campaign.

Thats the first Hot Shot in the vid, which is 9.99. As for the the ad. What a waste. Just give me the PSP2 already!
