    Textropolis Lite is now available!

    iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=303698188&mt=8
    video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq_fmyP5Qo8&fmt=18

Textropolis is a persistent, free-play word discovery game. Travel around the word to different cities and discover as many words as you can from the letters of their names. Finding more words builds up each city, unlocks new ones, and adds to your total Textropolis population. Not shown in the video is a cool feature where you can email a postcard to a friend from within any city letting you show them your progress. You can also get hints for unfound words by shaking (at a price). One of the coolest features of all is that there are definitions for every word (I hate coming across new words without knowing what they mean)!

    Smartass. :D

Seriously though, anyone thinking of getting this, grab the lite version. This game can make you lose hours at a time without even knowing it. You definitely get good value for every penny spent.

I wonder if they even make promo codes available for free apps, I've never checked.

I bet they do, don't they categorize Lite apps as normal applications? They seem to with their screening process and how often they reject them.

Glad you agree that you're a smartass. :p

Hey all, just wanted to say I'm one of the hold outs that hadn't purchased the game yet. I'm in the middle of a few other word games but after playing this lite version (which I'm glad was made) I know see what everyone is talking about in what a great game this is.
oh....left a review for the lite version a couple seconds ago.......5 star of course!

Its definitely a game I want to make, hopefully in the next couple months.

If people aren't tired of my word games after that maybe we'll see Star Text (space), Textward! (Oregon Trail) and Subtext! (Deep sea exploration) :D

Question: Once you've 5-starred a city, is there anything to be gained by plugging away at it (beyond personal satisfaction)? It surprises me that you only need 50% of the possible words for 5 stars.

If you continue, you get gold stars, indicating that you have 60%, 70% etc.
