Text to Speech app...any good ones?

I'm looking for a note-taking app that translates speech to text. Ideally, something that creates internal notes or (even better) adds to the Notes app.

Anyone got a recommendation?

Does it do speech to text? It appears to me to be a text to speech app.

I'm looking for what I guess you could call a dictation / transcription app.


EDIT: Wow, I'm dumb. I had written 'text to speech app' when I meant to say 'speech to text app'. Doh!

 

Or, for that matter, has anybody used any of them?

Or know anything about why so many of them are subscription-based...?

Dragon Dictation works great. I'm really impressed with the text accuracy!

Now if only it'd figure out how to punctuate based on some sort of length threshold for pauses between phonemes...
