    Hi All,

I was curious as to what you guys test your apps on.

Do you have a selection of iOS devices that you run your app through to test performance and compatibility? Or are there any of you out there that just use the simulator? :)

I currently just develop my apps on my iPhone 4 but was considering picking up an old iPod touch (2nd gen) as well for compatibility.

    Thanks!

You need to use a real device for testing and especially for games and opengl
    performance etc.

When I worked at a bigger company and I was QA, we had to test our game on every device from generation 1 iPods to generation 4 iPhones with at least 3 of the popular iOS. This I think was a bit overkill but I didn't complain because it was my job.

In my experience testing on 2 devices can work depending on what your game does. Networking and handling interrupts are the 2 areas where you'll find the most difference between iOS and devices. Performance is the other important area of testing. Older devices might handle graphics slower.
