Hi All, I just submitted build #14 and I need your feedback please. The Void Powerup now will now absorb all Dreamsparks around you and will fill up your dreamspark stamina bar. In addition, you will be teleported to a random area. You could go up to 10 icicles ahead, but you could also go up to 5 icicles BACKWARDS. Once you are teleported, you will have a second to maneuver into a good position (meaning, if you dont ask fast, you could hit an icicle). My logic is this: This powerup could be very powerful, so I am giving it some drawbacks, so it is up to you if you want to risk using it: - This power up will always give you something positive: it will fill up your bar. - You could go ahead up to 10 spots (6 out of 12 times) or you could move ahead only a few icicles (4 out of 12 times) but you could also go backwards (2 out of 12 times). - To get this power up, you have to reach icicle 50, so it is assumed that you are a good player. Therefor the 1 second to maneuver into a good position, should be good enough for a good player. Let me know if my logic is sound Thanks! Jorge
I really like the new vortex power up, it seemed a little overpowered before, so that's good. I'll fiddle around with it a bit more then add some more feedback.

I am planning to change the icon for Ice Flap Penguin to one of the ones below. At least for this version. I may change it again later on. If anyone has an opinion, let me know
Thank you, Noah I've been getting some feedback and it seems I am going with option 2 :/ It seems most people preferred 1, BUT we realized that at small sizes it looks more like a fireball, not like a penguin ... ... so I think we have to go with 2 for now. But, we'll use the nice graphics for the powerups posted on Facebook
1 really looks cool. But the game title is Ice Flap Penguin so we can't deal it with burning penguin. 2 is the best option i'd say.
I think option three is the best. Also, I think that the name "Ice Flap Penguin is a little bulky. Maybe you could think of something a little shorter, such as just Pookie (I think that's the penguin's name? Not sure though)
Thank you for the comments For the icon, I'll probably go back to the "icy' colors (such as the 3rd powerup icon) after a while. I wanted this version to stand out and the "fire" colors to represent the new "powers". Yes, maybe "Ice Flap Penguin" is a bit bulky, but I am trying to go with my line of future games (Ice Math Ninja, Ice Flap Penguin, Ice Mash Candy, Ice Toss Frenzy). I did try shorter names at the beginning, but they were taken by others : / Well, I submitted this build to Apple last night I may have a new beta update for version 1.4 by tomorrow with a new feature ... it's a surprise By the way, I plan to send your free games next week, and I'll ask your requests then. (I will also add a credits screen in the next version and I'll add your names). Thanks for all your feedback!
Glad to see everything is going well! I continue to play this game, and I enjoy it very much. The power ups are all doing what they're supposed to, and the game has come a long way from just last week! Glad to have been a part in this.
And thank you, Warbird for being part of this I appreciate all the feedback I've received. I got a lot of good suggestions and ideas. I still have a list of ideas for future version. And I have to get the credit screen built
Have you considered possibly an interactive credit roll? There could be 2 options for the credits screen: 1. The default. Just post the credits on the screen, let them scroll, or let the user scroll through them, just like any normal credits. 2. Each icicle representing one of the names on the credits, creating yet another game mode, which would actually be the same, only different at the same time. Creating another score attack/leaderboard challenge type mode, only while scrolling the credits across. I'm not sure how easy or difficult this would be to do, but figured it wouldn't hurt to suggest.
hahaha I do like the idea, but it might be a lot of work I have code already made for credits from my other game, but I still have to modify it to fit in this game. But, the idea is interesting ... what I was thinking was to put the names of your friend's highscores in the icicle they reached. It is still a lot of work, but I am considering doing it. If I do this code, maybe I can put a secret button to switch it to the credits names ...
Outstanding that it's been sent to Apple - hope it shows up soon so the version with power ups can be on all our devices ... ;-). Also look forward to the "surprise" in the next beta release! It's a fun game!
Thanks It'll be on Android this 20th for sure (since they don't check), but it'll probably take a week for Apple to approve (according to: http://reviewtimes.shinydevelopment.com ) The surprise is half coded already. If I get inspired, I may have something to show tonight ...
I was not able to finish the new feature yet :/ Since, version 1.3 has already been submitted, I am taking a short vacation with my team to visit the jungles of Peru When I come back, I'll continue working on the new feature, which should be ready by monday or tuesday! Then I'll start sending the promised gift Apps, and then I'll setup a date for the Ice Flap Penguin Tournament! FYI, if anybody has Android devices, version 1.3 with powerups will be available tomorrow morning for Android and Kindle
Well, I live in Peru, but I've never been to the jungle part of Perú. So, it'll be a short trip, but still fun In the first page of this thread I promised 2 apps (up to $2.99) to all testers that gave me feedback. So I'll be requesting your app choices next week (but you have to be able to accept US Apple store gift cards, ... otherwise I can do a Paypal transaction).
