All of the gameplay is limited to that singular arena. Choices made in the arena bear no consequences outside the arena. You either die or live long enough to see yourself become a victor. The metagame outside the arena is simple. You progress on the map and use crystals to unlock helpful boons. In Tesla Force, the gameplay transcends the limits of the arena. You will have meaningful choices both inside and outside the arena, beyond simply acquiring upgrades. You can choose your path to travel, along with the challenges and rewards that come with it. If you have to go to a mission that requires destroying the cthulu statues, it's not unusual for a character to be completely unable to even really damage a statue enough before it gets swarmed with hordes of enemies that cover the line of fire, and then it starts to regenerate. I managed to get through one of them eventually with a good run, but then the final boss of the map just destroyed me completely. I was hesitant to get this considering I had the first but after the comparison on both I figured I’d give it a go, is it just me but does the aim feel off? I feel like it’s not going where I want it to and I love twin stick shooters and don’t remember feeling like this with any others I’ve played. It’s what makes these games awesome. It feels just slightly off at times. It’s not working properly. Something is off with the turning or resetting of the joystick. Also for me it keeps using the teleport even though I am not even close to the button. It just goes automatically. I also have the first on switch and I like it but didn’t love it. Was boring a bit. The only real hook was the graphics and the big machine. This time around I like it so much better right off the bat. I love a simple rogue lite like this in my pocket. Has the one more run feel. Nice upgrade between each run. So far I’m having a blast. Haven’t dug that much into it and certainly have not even made it to the first boss yet. I think it can also activate if you quick tap near the move stick or something, but it’s not consistent. I switched to a physical controller and am having a much better experience. Still haven’t beaten the first boss yet, but got close last run (about 20% of his life left). Progress is starting to slow down with upgrades, so I’m a little afraid of how grindy this will be. Playing with a physical controller is definitely the way to go, and the trick to success seems to be stacking damage perks as much as you can and then doing everything possible to get multi-kill bonus drops so you can get the fire/frost/multi bonuses, then killing even more to keep the bonuses coming. Once they stop dropping, it’s hard to get momentum going again. Can you use a switch pro controller? I heard people say you can use Xbox and PlayStation I think? Mine is now also teleporting randomly and it wasn’t yesterday…sometimes I feel like the aim is trying to auto aim rather than where I’m pointing it but I don’t see any auto aim in the options. So I feel like you may be right about the twin stick. It feels just slightly off at times. It’s not working properly. Something is off with the turning or resetting of the joystick.
