Yeah. I've done it before just like that too. I've tried several other suggestions from other people as well. Still nothing. I'm not sure what else to try except for maybe editing it in to my character with a hex editor. Although, I don't know how to do that otherwise I probably would have already done that.
Update was just posted that fixes the issue with the game freezing after pressing "Play". Unfortunately they left the debug display on so you get constant debugging messages on the left half of the screen (at least for me). They really need to test their updates better.
It's not just you. I am experiencing the same problems. Also it keeps telling me that I need certain requirements for it to be a home, even when I don't even have a house in that world.
Since according to the official forum they submitted this patch a week ago maybe they can do a "critical fix update" this time. I love the appstore description stating that it affected "some" players. Right....
Yeah I'm with you guys. I mean I have a lot of respect for these devs. Terraria is probably one of my favorite games. And I can't even begin to imagine the difficulty in coding. But I'm really starting to wonder what the hell is going on here. I should have learned my lesson with the last update to check to see if there are issues with doing it.
I'm also experiencing the same thing as everyone else now. Was working fine before. after I did an uninstall/install. Now I have constant words covering a third of my screen. The problem isn't with the developer (relogic). The problem is the iOS and console versions were outsourced to 505 and obviously these clowns don't test their games or don't have all the devices to test on. You'd think with all the revenue coming in from this game they'd care a little more about keeping their fan base happy. Hoping for a quick fix....again. Oh. And rewarding us with the 1.2 update or at least all the hard mode items would be a sufficient apology. Don't ya think?
I'm getting debug messages as well.. To the point where I find it unplayable. I mean, does the developer even test the updates? I don't think so because these past two issues with updates are so obvious, you'd know right from starting the game! I usually keep quiet about things like these, but this is unacceptable in my opinion. I feel like there is no quality control in testing the app. I've never seen such botched updates before.
If you are on 1.0.1 then yes update, if you are running the original app then stay where you are because that's its best state at the moment.
In the last update, NPCs don't settle in homes. It just shows debugging messages about some light sources, chairs, tables and doors missing (they are not, I tell you). It happened to me in a new world. So, it's official, the game is still unplayable.
Epic fail... Twice... Third times a charm I guess. I'm glad I decided to wait to download the update.
I don't know much about the developer codeglue, but if you look at their previous iOS work on the App Store and on their website it doesn't look too impressive or extensive. Maybe 505 games should have hired a better iOS developer. I bet they wish they did now. Their App Store rating dropped pretty good after that last update. I wonder how much further it's going to drop now.
It's ooooh who's doing or attempting to pull off miracles here, I'm just thinking of a way to supply it to everyone
I don't know how he's going to be able to pull off disabling the debug text without jail breaking and tweaking the app. We'll probably all have to wait another week or two for an update again. Unless... It can be disabled in the config file that's in the documents folder. Has anyone looked at that yet?
