Not sure how new you are to terraria so if you already know this, ignore me. but boss battles can only be started at night and as soon as it turns day, they leave. Start the battle just as night starts for maximum time.
This game is just incredible, once you get a hang of it (which may take hrs or even days)you will realize it is a dream of a game. However............ This is the second time my file has glitched on me, the first occurance happened when every time I would open my file my character would free fall to his death. So I started a new world and now the entire east side of the world is turned into empty space, the east contained a few of my houses with NPC's not to mention the cursed dungeon. This bug seems to pop up randomly and is quite game destroying and the devs really need to fix this, because I can't put another 8 or so hrs into this game only for that glitch to occur again and destroy everything or almost everything I built. With a game that requires so much time and patience (like all crafting games) you would think the devs would make sure that something like this would not occur. I'm not upset because playing the game doing nothing at all is even satisfying for some odd reason, but it would be even better if the devs fixed this bug or at least inform us that they are on it. Guess I'll have to play Junk Jack X till then............
You can use 30 Vile Powder and 15 Rotten Flesh to make Worm Food. This is made at a Demon Altar (those creepy things you find near Corruption in the underground. Vile Powder is made at an Alchemy stand which is a Workbench or Table with a Bottle on top. 1 Vile Mushroom (found in Corruption) will make 5 Vile Powder. And Rotten Flesh is obtained from killing Eaters of Souls. Just center yourself in the corruption above the surface without being more than a few tiles up. Also, don't fall down chasms, and keep trying to reposition yourself in the center. You can also just try to grow your corruption. Have you tried anything with character transferring? Because I noticed that the character files were saved as different filetypes.
This HAS to be it then! Thanks for the tip. I tried a third time and it happened again when he was so close to death -__- but I was able to get enough shadow scales to make the nightmare pickaxe so I'm all good now haha. Thanks for the advice! I'm trying this next time I take him on.
Experienced this nice bug twice now. App freezes when I try to hit the pause button. App then crashes, lost 2 hours worth of work. Totally sucks. Otherwise I love the game
Your arena can't be UNDER corruption. It has to be on it in order for the summon to work. It's the same concept as moving away from the corruption.
Has anyone been able to make the Spectre Boots? I finally found the goblin tinkerer and bought the Rocket Boots and Tinker's Workshop. I already had the Hermes Boots so I placed the workbench and checked for the Spectre Boots but I don't see the option to make them. Is it supposed to come up just like any other crafted item or do I have to do something else?
Tried to make spectre boots and lost one item in the process!! Next time ill back up my save before hand... Been playing some dungeon levels recently (grinding for all items) and found a cobalt shield... So hopefully the other ores can be unlocked later, it's a good sign that cobalts in the game though. I can only ever find three keys max in a dungeon though? What gives? I've also come across the arch deamon, dragon skull, dragon hornet, vampire miner and other 'console' content, so hopefully this has the same data as the console port, except with smaller worlds.
I tried many ways and you can't transfer characters from ios to PC or vice versa, you can transfer worlds and characters from ios to ios though. Will see what else I can come up with later this week. The ios uses .player and .world where as PC uses .wrd and .plr If you rename the PC world to .world and transfer it into the documents of terraria mobile it does read it and load it but it gets stuck in a boot loop, constantly at the loading stage. This is on an iPhone 5 and I only waited 5 minutes, I'm confident there is a way to get this data to work as with a hex editor the world file is very very similar, just the extension they have changed. Offering 3GS support is likely why the worlds are so small, I'm sure a 4S and iPhone 5 as well as the newer iPads could handle bigger maps and memory loads.
I mentioned the save state differences around 30 pages back or so. I've been trying ever since to modify the files in some way to be compatible with the pc version, but it doesn't seem to be possible.
I'm assuming this is a stupid question and probably has been answered, but....how do you open chests? I have a gold key but doesn't seem to work.
How did you get the Spectre boots to show up? I have both prerequisite boots and the tinkerer's workbench but it doesn't show up on the crafting menu.
Auto Gold Generator A way to generate gold easily! Auto generates goldfish which are killed by the skeletons (which also walk across the pressure plate switch to keep it automatic.) One fish statue generates about 60 goldfish a minute. A stack of 99 goldfish sell for almost 2 gold! I plan to create another chamber underneath full of fish statues and one more skeleton statue (gotta find more) and wire them into the top pressure plate. Material: Fish statue, skeleton statue, wire, wire cutters, a wrench, a pressure plate, and a lever. Build the room as pictured below. The finished generator. The wiring from left to right: pressure plate, skeleton statue, goldfish statue, down to a lever. The lever is only used to start the generator, after that it is automatic. You can mash on the lever to speed up goldfish collection. Limited only by your empty inventory space. PS. During a blood moon goldfish drop coins...
I've gotta say when I first started playing I was loving it. Several hours in I started getting bored. Couldn't get the nurse or demolitionist and only had about two npc's and it always said they were trying to settle down but never did. I got to the bottom of the world and crash. Decided to start a new world and everything's changed for the better . Had the goblin army finally found a ton of chest and got some awesome weapons crafted. Beat the eye and just beat skeleton and I've got all the npc's. don't know what changed but definitely happy again. Although I got to the merchant inside the castle and game crashed so we shall see. Also down in hell I hit the bottom but it seems glitches. No real bottom just won't go down any further no blocks. I only think its glitches because there's a heart crystal half on screen half off? Just weird. Finally found a floating island which had a ton of gold on it!
WHAT? I'm such a NOOB in this game. I didn't know statues could generate anything. I've been selling all my extras. Is this the only way for the fish statue to generate a goldfish? Can I just go and hit it on a blood moon? Or do you need to have a switch and wire to make it generate something? Thanks
I haven't found any either but I'm guessing they're in the sky. Gonna build a ginormous tower soon and look for them.
I managed to find a really high mountain that was at the sky level. I found a gold locked chests in a silver brick building guarded by harpies. I haven't been able to open the chest yet though. I'm excited to see what's in it! On another note... I had that game breaking glitch happen to me today where when you start your world you spawn in the middle of the air and just free fall to your death. I restart the game and it just happens over and over. Luckily I just backed my phone up last night so I should be okay... It's really annoying though. If I hadn't backed up recently I would have been screwed out of a good 15+ hours of play on that world. Plus all of my loot stored in numerous chests. I would have been PISSED... Something weird happened right before this happened though that I think might be connected. I have been having trouble getting my Spectre boots to show up in my crafting options so I have been screwing with different things to make that show up. At some point, right before this glitch, I put my rocket boots onto my character and they disappeared... I then immediately restarted the game hoping it hadn't saved the changes yet and when I came back I was free falling.
Says I need 15 hears to continue but I have 15 in my inventory, 10 part of my life, and it won't let me eat anymore. Any ideas? I can't seem to get past gold items to get Better picks for corrupt and hell rocks. Stuck. Help!
