I don't believe so. This version has all the stuff that the pc version has, and there are no more updates for the pc, they will only be for bug fixes or maybe multiplayer I assume
PC version has update 1.2, which is absolutely massive. I think there's a bug with the NPC move-in system. If you destroy a room that a NPC was previously living in and build a new one that fits the requirements, the NPC will just lounge around outside and won't move in. I now have 5 NPCs just walking around outside (even at night) because I decided I wanted nicer walls....
I can't seem to place wood platforms past a certain depth. Theres some rock in the dirt. How can I climb back up?
The move-in system works but can be a bit wonky at times. Today I built a new home base inside a floating island (I know, this may not be the most practical thing to do but it's cool!). It took 3-5 (in-game) days for my 4 NPCs to move to the new place - at first they were just hanging around the remains of the old house, but they eventually arrived. (I read somewhere that you only need to remove the table and chair to "destroy" an NPC's house, not sure if that's true though it would make sense, but I wanted my old building gone anyway so I tore it all down.) Try going off on adventure for a couple of days, maybe they'll have settled once you get back?
Both. Honestly. If you really, really can't or won't, ask yourself what you're looking for out of the game. Terraria is more of an action oriented open RPG built on a quasi minecrafty exploring and crafting system. JJX is a much more pure sandbox game where there are no goals but what you set for yourself, ever. You could punch a few trees in it, build a shelter to stay safe with the raw wood blocks, and "survive" forever with that setup (but that would be pretty boring ). Terraria, on the other hand, has different NPCs that function like "quests" and such that nudge you in the right direction, as well as more structured zones complete with bosses and, at times, ridiculous battles. So, if you must choose, base it on what you prefer. If you need more purpose in your sandbox game, Terraria. If you need more sand in your sandbox game, JJX.
Do only wood walls count as walls for houses if I want to attract NPCs? I'm building a few settlements, and have dirt walls, is that okay?
I can say it runs perfectly except for one thing... Game Centre. That won't load but the game is extremely smooth. If you don't care about GC, then have no fear of running it on a 1st gen iPad
I noticed that Terraria is #1 on the US paid app charts and Junk Jack X is #20. Codeglue's facebook page is here https://www.facebook.com/codeglue and there Twitter is here https://twitter.com/Codeglue. The developers could likely answer your question. I posted a link to this thread on their Facebook.
I'm pretty sure any type of wall is ok. There might be a few that don't work but dirt should definitely work. I could be wrong though, I've yet to try dirt.
You're going to have to place the platforms on an actual block. Once you reach the second depth and beyond you can't place any platforms on walls unfortunately.
This is a stupid question but I just downloaded this game and I'm going through the turorial. I can not figure out how to place items in my inventory. It is really annoying. I'm stuck in the pit and I need to place wood platforms. Edit: Nevermind. I figured it out. I didn't realize the top items were the hotbar.
How many items is there to be looted? Rough estimate? Or are all items in game related to the 200 in description..
Found some grenades. When the guide says to keep explosives to attract a demolitionist, can I keep them in chests or do they have to remain in my inventory
Has anyone lost as much progress as I have due to the crashing glitch when you hit the end of the map? It has literally made me not want to play Terraria for a while.
