It took me some time to get to the stone layer, it is definitely not large though... Either small or medium. I'm a bit disapointed by the fact the character emmits light in the dark, makes the torches a bit useless when exploring caves... Really, the game needs more options for those who wants the full Terraria experience.
From spawn I walked about two minutes to the right, found the old man and the dungeon, and was killed by a giant skeleton head. After respawning I walked about another two minutes towards the left where I encountered the corruption and was killed by soul eaters. So far in the world I'm playing there aren't any biome changes between the corruption and dungeon and I'm not sure what's past them. I did, however, manage to upgrade my avatar quite a bit and traveled downwards where I eventually reached hell. Of course, I got my head chopped off by a demon scythe or something down there (I honestly didn't know how i was going to get back up anyway) but the trek downwards did take a fairly long time. I'm thinking at least an hour and a half if not longer for me (I did, however, stop to pick up anything that looked valuable to me and I did explore the underworld before reaching hell quite a bit as well). I've yet to try and reach the floating islands and I think I'm just about equipped and ready to fight cthulu. I've never made it past this point on either version so I cant really compare the two too well but I did play terraria on pc for a bit on a large and medium world and definitely walked a lot longer than two minutes towards either side on the overworld before reaching corruption (I never actually found the dungeon) so I'm assuming it's a small world.
I believe this is correct. Small feels about right. Also I was able to max my health within an hour. I believe the balance of how often items appear and the damage enemies do has been shifted for mobile to make it slightly easier. I beat Cthulu a few times now. The fight went very smooth! I was surprised at how well the controls responded in a pinch.
Has anyone found meteorite spawns in their worlds yet? I've been stuck on Gold tier for a while now and I need an upgrade to fight Skeletron. I would like to get the Shadow set but demonite ore appears once in a blue moon and shadow scales are out of reach atm.
Just spent some more time with this and it is alot better than JJX - I love this games mechanics, the controls and style. It's excellent. Just scratching the surface after a few hours, perhaps the world gets bigger once hardcore is unlocked like on the PC? Anyway back to playing!
Meteors fall after you break a shadow orb I believe. Break 3 of them and the Eater of Worlds appears. Shadow orbs are found in the corruption so there will be many enemies around. With gold armor you should be alright. Skeletron is much more difficult than Eater of Worlds. I would go for Eater of Worlds and Meteorite Armor at least before attempting Skeletron.
Not sure if it has been posted but, here is a very nice guide/walkthrough/wiki that should answer anyone's questions. It also gives you a good idea how deep this game really is! http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Terraria_Wiki
Just reached the end of the world. feels slightly smaller than the "small" setting on PC, but still a large world for a mobile game.
At first I was slightly regretting my decision to buy. Then I fought some zombies underwater, found a Keen Spear in a chest, fought off a pack of Little Eaters, and made it back to my house before nightfall. Now I don't regret it one bit --- Can we craft windows or transparent walls?
First time ever playing a game from this genre and I'm loving it. I will probably buy jjx just to have it. I always figured these mining games would be boring but I was definitely wrong!
Looking at the PC edition screenshots on Steam; can I really fight unicorns and acquire a jetpack in Terraria? Zombies too? This seems like a strange omen because I've been doing this in daydreams my whole life. I wonder if they will add multiplayer to the iOS edition. That jungle level does look pretty intense. Steam info page link FWIW: http://store.steampowered.com/app/105600/ What was the basis for your initial regret?
I had only ever played Minecraft and Survivalcraft so right off the bat, I had the assumption that being in 2D would somehow lessen the feeling of exploration. Then the controls are a bit iffy on an iPhone screen. I had heard great things about Terraria but I wasn't feeling the tutorial at all. But now that I've played more and experienced more of the RPG stuff, I'm really enjoying it. Just fought a pack of Demon Eyes and zombies by hiding underwater and stabbing at them with my spear. Crafted some googles. Made a flaming bow. Yeah this game is great. I think I'm going to have to get the PC version as well Awesome. Thanks
Yep you just need a furnace and two sand blocks to create a glass block. You can then use it to make glass walls.
Are they going to update this version? Did they ever have updates on the console versions (And by updates, not bug fixes, but updates which add more content)
Yea they did have some massive content updates in the PC version. I'm not sure if they'll bring it to the iOS version, but the devs are usually quite good with updates and such, just a bit slow.
